Have you seen the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" with Diane Lane? Well, I have, many times...including this afternoon. It is such a precious movie that makes you really think about the possibilities of life.... possibilities, that is, if you are willing to take that big step.
And now as I sit here and type this and am surrounded by bags that I have packed for my trip to Denmark in treogtyve dage (23 days!)... bags that are full of my important earthly possessions that I am bringing to Herning to leave there (remember, we are using the airlines to MOVE me!! )and I realize that I COULD BE HER!! I could be Frances, Diane Lane's character in "Under the Tuscan Sun". I am taking that big step and I am imagining the possibilities.
You know how little girls grow up, dreaming of the fairy tale that read about last night, wondering when it will happen to them??!! Well, I am here to tell you that the answer to that question for me is "NOW!" The fairy tale is happening now...
No, not because I am moving to Denmark in seven and a half months! No, not because I have found some romantic fantasy that is only spoken of in books... and no, not because some white horse arrived at my door, waiting to whisk me away......
The reason is because I have found a man that loves me above all else and I get the incredible opportunity to love him the same way. The fairy tale is real. There really are incredible men who love one woman more than themselves. It does not always happen at the time we expect or in the way that we expect but ladies, I can tell you... it DOES happen.
I would not change a thing about my past. Not a single heartache or a single trial because I believe that every moment I lived before today was preparing me to love and to be loved by Mads Thellufsen Nørgaard. And it feels freaking amazing.
Yes this post is a little sappy and yes I am sure many of you are rolling your eyes and saying "Yeah right... she gets to move to Europe and we are stuck here in Middle America..." but I promise you...that is just geography. Your physical address has nothing to do with it. It's about opening your heart to love and to be loved. Don't miss out. If you have not found it, don't give up.. I am 37 years old and it just now happened to me! I love my life and I want the next 23 days to pass so quickly-- I am ready to go to my new home and to the man that I want to spend the rest of my life with (oh yeah, and the man I want to have a baby with!!!--- bet I shocked the hell out of you on that one!!)

You hit upon an important point... the people that we get to love. Get to. It's a privilege.
I think when you look at relationships like that... like the miracle that they are, that two lives can cross paths and intertwine the way your life has with Mads... you feel so many other emotions like honor and pride and responsibility and commitment. It's the greatest thing.
