Tonight is election night in Denmark and our present government will govern 4 more years. They won with 53 to 47 percent!
This have really been a day and night with alot of tension, because alot of people thought that the socialists and there supporting parties will take over the power, but as the day was passing by, it got more and more clear that the present gorvernment regain the power.
We are a little over 4 mio. Danes that can vote and over 86% have given they vote today! As Kelli said today: A good election in America is when 20-30% of the all Americans is voting, so as you all can hear ... The Danes are very interested in politics :o)

Yeah, America blows as far as participation in our democracy goes. You'd think people would, like, get so excited to go vote but they don't. Then the ones that don't vote bitch loudest about stuff.
I hear that you actually go to the farm to pick up eggs... that is way strange.
yeah, but I wonder if America actually used the POPULAR vote, would we have a better turnout? Sometimes people believe their vote truly does not count! something to ponder....
I have loved watching the excitement and campaigning of the Danish Elections the past few weeks. It has been so exciting.
I have noticed the Danes we are friends with seem to be REALLY interested in politics. What was shocking to us is how many younger kids from the ages of 12-18 are also interested in politics! Very impressive.
Good point, Kel... the electoral college really effs things up.
