step 1...at the airport

The girls were up and ready to go by 545am this morning!
I was so proud of them!! We left a very sad Albert as we loaded up and headed to DFW. We could hear him at the door, wimpering.... hope Heather gives him lots of love while we are gone!!

We got checked in... the 6 bags each weighed either 49 or 49.5 pounds! YES!! We got out of the car with all our bags and Jess said "God, my mom sure knows how to overpack!" And Danielle quickly reminded her that that's all the stuff "she is leaving in Denmark!" I really am not THAT high maintenance!!

As we are sitting here in the airport, we are next to a man who is taking his dog on the plane... a little chihauahau... the airline rules say the dog and carrier cannot exceed 15 pounds to have the dog go into the cabin..so as I sit and watch this guy with his dog, I am determined that Albert and I are going on an exercise program between now and June to make sure he is down to the right weight...because the thought of putting him in cargo makes me want to CRY!!!!!!!!!

Poor little Albert!!!How much weight does he have to loose to get down to 15 pounds with his carrier? Good Job on the packing too! I would have loved to have been watching three girls getting out of the car with 6 bags! LOL....what a sight. Remind me to tell you about the horror of the first time we moved to Denmark and all of our luggage! It's a great story!

Albert weighs 16 pounds now...so if I get his hair cut really short the day we leave...and get one of those carriers that are mesh and weigh almost nothing, we might be ok! gotta do something....putting him in cargo would be like putting Jess in cargo! LOL

Also, I thought step one was "put a hole in the box".

I better hope I never have to move Tequila to Europe! BTW...I had some friends that do flyball with their dogs and they feed their dogs canned green beans before tournaments to help them shed water weight. Just a thought...remember, after you get him on the plane, you can feed him whatever! :D
