Some of you might think ... how are they really celebrating Christimas in Denmark? Are we running around naked with horns on our heads ... or do we celebrate Christimas more or less like you guys America? To your reliefe, we are doing many of the same things and having the same traditions, but there is one thing that you don't have ... A calander candle! Yes, a candle where we are burning one day at the time until the 24th. Then every one can be all excited by counting the days to the day of Christimas ... pretty cool, huh? :o)
There is one thing that Kelli have, that I have NEVER seen before ... A plastic Christimas tree in a box !?!?! Where did that come from? I know ... I know! You can't buy a real tree, because of the weather there, but here in Denmark we all have real Christimas trees with real candles on .. Can you imagine that?
On Saturday dad and I are acturelly going to the forest to cut down a tree for my parents house ... A good and long tradition that we have done every year since I was a little boy. I will make sure to bring the camera, so you all can see.

So -- seriously -- how do you prevent accidental fires in your home due to the progressively drying-out tree decorated with the lit candles?

first of all, my tree is NOT plastic...but second of all, is my husband not the most precious man you have ever encountered?!?

Well Jenny, there was acturelly one time a few years ago where my parents Christimas tree burned down to the grownd. I was not at home, but my mom and dad was sitting in there sofa and all of a sutten the tree litt up and in matter of secounds the tree was one big fire! My dad reacted instantly ... grabed the tree (on fire) and rushed it out of the living room and throu it outside, where it burned up! Nothing happend to my dad or the house - only so small burns. Now we always have some wather close by ... just incase :o)
OMG!! You STILL put small fire sticks on the tree even AFTER burning up a tree??!! Brave! Very brave!
My tree is plastic, too. The real ones are heavy. I might be inclined to get a real tree if it came with a squirrel.
The Christmas Tree burnt to the ground one year!?!?! WOW. I always wondered how the tree's never caught on fire here, but I guess they do!
