Når jeg tænker om Chicago, tænker jeg om Jess fordi er det "vores by". Jeg elsker Chicago. Det er min favorit by i Amerika fordi har Chicago den bedste indkøb i U.S.A. og kan jeg gå og handle og føler rent sikker! Jeg altid har et hotel på Michigan Avenue.... "Den Storartet Mile"...EN MILE med alle butikkerne og restauranter jeg elsker! Chicago er en MEGET SMUK by med UTROLIG byggepladser og FORBLØFFENDE arkitektur! Og det er berømt for både!
When I think about Chicago, I think about Jess because it is "our city". I love Chicago. It is my favorite city in America because Chicago has the best shopping in the US and I can go and shop and feel completely safe! I always have a hotel on Michigan Avenue...."The Magnificent Mile"...ONE MILE with all the shops and restaurants I love! Chicago is a very beautiful city with wonderful buildings and amazing architecture! And it is famous for both!
Før jeg flytter til Danmark, ønskede jeg at have tid med Jess alene... lige den to af med ikke kærester, ikke arbejde, ikke skole og ikke bekrymeter så planlagde vi vores tur. Vi tog til Chicago i torsdag morgen og kom tilbage i aftes. Det var tre bedste dage for mig og Jess. Vi boede i et utrolig hotel, lo vi, handlede vi, spiste vi, "kiggede mennesker" vi (og lo mere!!), og gik og gik og gik vi!!!
Before I move to Denmark, I wanted to have time alone with Jess...just the two of us with no sweethearts, no work, no school and no worries so we planned our trip. We flew to Chicago last Thursday morning and came back last night. It was three of the best days for me and Jess. We stayed in an incredible hotel, we laughed, we shopped, we ate, we "people watched" (and laughed more!!) and we walked and walked and walked!!!
Vi ønskede at handle for sommertøj og vidste vi hvad vores budget var, MEN sidste uge jeg solgte næsten ALLE min møbler (Kan du tror det??!!) så deponerende jeg den flertal af det i banken, men havde vi EKSTRA penge for indkøb vores tur efter jeg solgte alting! Michigan Avenue....her vi kommer! J Crew, Banana Republic, H&M, Forever XXI, 9 West, ALDO, NikeTown, Steve Madden, Victoria´s Secret, Nordstrom´s, Urban Outfitters....alle vores favoriter og gik vi til alle af dem i torsdag! Dengang fredag var "SPA DAG" med massager og pedicurer og forkæler!
We wanted to shop for summer clothes and we knew what our budget was, but last week I sold almost ALL of my furniture (Can you believe it??!!) so I deposited the majority of it in the bank, but we had EXTRA money for our shopping trip after I sold everything! Michigan Avenue...here we come! J Crew, Banana Republic, H&M, Forever XXI, 9 West, ALDO, NikeTown, Steve Madden, Victoria´s Secret, Nordstrom´s, Urban Outfitters...all our favorites and we went to all of them on Thursday! Then Friday was SPA DAY with massages and pedicures and pampering!
Lørdag var vores nem dag....(hvilken vi havde brug for fordi er indkøb er SVÆR ARBEJDE!!!) Vi sov sen og dengang gik langs med Sø Michigan, kigger i blomsterne og menneskerne. Vi også fandt hvor Jess må ønske at gå til "Lov Skole". Det var en perfekt ende til en perfekt tur....men VENT... de er mere!
Saturday was our easy day...(which we needed because shopping is HARD WORK!!) We slept late and then walked along Lake Michigan, looking at the flowers and the people. We also found where Jess may want to go to Law School. It was the perfect end to the perfect trip...but WAIT....there is more!
Vores flyv fra Chicago var kl. 19.00 i aftes men vi ankommede i lufthavnen tidlig....fordi var vi træt! Vi indså var det en godt ting at ankomme tidlig fordi manden hvem arbejder til Amerika Luft spurgte os hvis kan lidt vi vores sæder om flyven. Vi sagde de var O.K..... og dengang fortalte han os havde han bedre sæder for os! Det er rigtigt... vi fløj tilbage til Dallas i FØRST KLASSE! Nu DET var den perkekt ende til den perfekt tur med den perfekt datter og den perfekt ven!
Our flight from Chicago was at 7pm last night but we arrived at the airport early....because we were tired! We realized it was a good thing to arrive early because the man who works for American Airlines asked us if we liked our seats on the flight. We said they were O.K.....og then he told us he had better seats for us! That´s right... we flew back to Dallas in FIRST CLASS! Now THAT was the perfect end to the perfect trip with the perfect daughter and the perfect friend!

The church you took your picture in front of is where my cousin got married. It's a gorgeous church, but DAMN it took a long time for her to walk down the aisle!
We are moving our middle daughter to Chicago in 3 weeks. She's being transferred with her company and is excited beyond all belief.
She's a native Texan. We are native Michiganders, now Texans since 1974. She "thinks" she wants to experience the glorious winters.
Have you ever shopped Michigan Avenue in December? And then January, February or March? LOL

I'm glad you guys had so much fun and enjoyed a wkend together! Maybe you can do the same with a special wkend when Jess visits you in DK. And you can find an "our city" in DK, too.

Oh, Kelli, you two girls had a wonderful time. We are so glad that you were able to get away-just the two of you. Jess is such a pretty girl, and she must take after her momma. We wish you both all the best because this is going to be difficult for both of you. Thank God for Skype, huh?
What a perfect mother/daughter trip! I'm happy to hear that you added another great memory of your time together, for you to treasure when you miss Jess after moving here.
