Albert, Emmitt og jeg sad udenfor sammen i morges og nød solskinet og det vidunderligt vejr! Jeg ved jeg vil være især ensom hvis jeg havde ikke Albert og Emmitt med mig i Danmark. Mennesker hvem ved begge to forstår hvor dejlig de er! Enhver bør har kæledyr ligesom min.... det vil lave verden en lykkeligere plads! For næsten en timer Emmitt rullede på græsset mens Albert og jeg kiggede ham. Det var den perfekt måde at begynde min dag. Jeg ved jeg deler mange billeder i Albert men ikke mange i Emmitt, så i dag jeg tog MANGE billeder med begge to!
My precious day began with my two boys and then continued with my sweet mother in law, Taimi. Albert, Emmitt and I sat outside together this morning and enjoyed the sunshine and the wonderful weather! I know I would be especially lonely if I did not have Albert and Emmitt with me in Denmark. People who know both of them understand how precious they are! Everyone ought to have pets just like mine....it would make the world a happier place! For almost an hour Emmitt rolled in the grass while Albert and I watched him. It was the perfect way to begin my day. I know I share many pictures of Albert but not many of Emmitt, so today I took MANY pictures with both of them!
Klokken 13:00 min svigermor, Taimi, kørte til mit hus og tog mig og Albert ud for en dag med hende. Vi handlede, drak kaffe, spiste kage og tog en tur til en gammel by i Jylland hed efter den BRUN KUL Danskerne fandt der i WW2. "Brunkulsøby" (Brown Coal Lake Town) var fylde med små huse hvor mennesker boede mens arbejder i kulminer. Kullet de fandt var brugt i mange Dansk byer i WW2 for energi og det også gav brændstof til tog... anden eksampel hvor Danskerne udnytter den naturrigdomme de har. Da kullet var gravede ud, mange stor huller var lavede....hvilken i dag er flotte søer omkringliggende den gammel by. Ingen bor i Brunkulsøby nu, fordi mennesker forlod det efter arbejder i kulminer sluttede. Men det er stadig en forbløffende plads at se! Skilte var overalt at fortælle besøger hvor færlig området er...fordi efter kullet var gravede, "quicksand" var opdagede omkring hver strand. Så du må være meget forsigtig når du udforsker. Jeg lærte mange ting om denne område i Jylland fra min "tur guide", Taimi, og tog billeder til mange smukke seværigheder!
Oh.... og også... vores hele dag, vi snakkede på dansk sammen og kun har brug for at kigge to order i ordbog! Vi forstod hinanden og det var meget godt!!
At 1pm my mother in law, Taimi, drove to my house and took me and Albert out for a day with her. We shopped, drank coffee, ate cake and took a drive to an old town in Jutland named after the BROWN COAL the Danes found there during WW2. "Brunkulsøby" (Brown Coal Lake Town) was filled with little houses where people like while working in the coal mines. The coal they found was used in many Danish towns during WW2 for energy and it also provided fuel for the trains.... another example where the Danes use the natural resources they have. When the coal was dug, many big holes were made...which today are beautiful lakes surrounding the old town. No one lives in Brunkulsøby now because the people left it after the work in the coal mines ended. But it is still an amazing place to see! Signs are everywhere to tell visitors how dangerous the area is....because after the coal was dug, "quicksand" was discovered around every lake´s edge. So you must be very careful when you explore. I learned many things about this area in Jutland from my "tour guide" Taimi, and took pictures of many beautiful sights. Oh...and also... we spoke Danish together all day and only had to look up 2 words in the dictionary! We understood each other and it was great!

It's great that you're communicating in Danish with your mother-in-law. I'm nowhere near it.
I am glad that you have Albert & Emmitt, so you don't feel lonely and that mom can take you out on sight-seeing in the area of Herning.
I love this constant expression on Albert's face- its almost zen like in a way. He is so sweet!- it has inspired me to get a dog of my own. Your mother-in-law sounds wonderful- I guess this is another perk of marrying a Dane, great mother-in-laws! (well, statistically its proving that so far)..

I had no idea there was quicksand in Denmark. How interesting. thanks for the great pictures and the great info about "Brunkulsøby"! It is def. a place I've never ever heard of.
I think you should post pictures of the REAL Emmitt.... if you look at the large versions of him in the grass, you can see his little Catler mustache.

And re: brunkulssøby, It's neat how the town name is just a big long danish compound word... I guess it's more neat for me just learning Danish to notice when a really long word is just a bunch of small words lol
Emmitt and Albert must love having you here finally!? They look so cute! I love animals!
I'm amazed that you could learn so much Danish without living here that you can already spend half a day with your mother-in-law speaking only Danish!! It's very impressive!
