It is 12:15am on July 2....well, it is in Denmark already! Today is very special because seventeen years ago I got the most perfect give in the world...Jessica Dee came into my life as a baby and today she is a beautiful, precious 17 year old young lady who I am so proud of. Happy Birthday, Jess!
I have been so busy lately--organizing the house, arranging my things (because I have one more suitcase at Nichole´s with 50 pounds of shoes and clothes), cooking for family and friends, working out at the gym with Mads, and exploring Herning and the towns around it. I am lucky I don´t have a job yet because there is so much I want to do first!! I have seen more nature in two weeks in Denmark than I saw in 37 years in Texas. It is AMAZING! Animals, forests, flowers, trees, and things I never believed I could experience! Albert and I walk many miles each day and we always go a different path each time so we can see everything in Herning. I miss everyone in America so incredibly much, but I want everyone to know I am good and I feel very welcomed in Denmark because Mads, his family and "his, mine and our" friends are taking great care of me!!
Mads with Michael and Mikkel on Saturday (Mads went to school with Michael since kindergarten!)
Albert og jeg går gennem MEGET FLOT Jynevad Skov... Albert and I walk through BEAUTIFUL Jynevad Forest
... Denmark is the country of Christmas trees; they are everywhere!
... Taimi and Albert explore Jynevad Forest; Taimi is my #1TOURGUIDE because she takes us to wonderful places while Mads is working!
Jeg elsker det stråtag huse. Kan du tror mennesker bruger strå stadig at lave tage? Det er egentlig meget dyr! ... I love the straw roof houses! Can you believe people still use straw to make roofs? It is actually very expensive!
Alberts først gang at møde får! Albert´s first time to meet sheep! Watch the video and you can see he prefers the horses from the park instead of the sheep!
Mere at komme....
I have my second interview with Oxford University Press on Friday, July 4 at 12:30 in Copenhagen. My presentation is almost done and today, Mads helped me choose the perfect dress to wear, so I am ready... I think! Send me good wishes and hope I talk SLOWLY!! More to come....

You look great! Happy 2-weeks-as-a-Danish-citizen anniversary!!
Kelli, I know you are going to knock'em dead at your second interview. One thing you have to your advantage is that you are accustomed to presenting your ideas to groups because you used to do it on a daily basis. You are also an innovative thinker and you are constantly thinking about the needs of the next generation. Good luck...and whatever happens, remember, it happens for a reason!
Good luck, my dear. I wish you all the best on your interview and I hope you'll get the job.
I explored the village I stayed last year and was amazed with the straw roof houses as well. I also saw real poppy for the first time in my life. I enjoy the village a lot, but it's incovinient to get out of it if you don't have a car.
I miss your comments:)
I know you will do great! They will love you just as we all do! Knock'em dead! Miss you! Love ME
Good Luck Kelli!!
I know you'll do awesome - just give it your best on 4th of July!!
And no matter what happens, you have a big cheering crowd supporting you from all over the world that is impressed with how far and quickly you've come.
I would suggest not taking Albert to the interview though, his reaction to the sheep doesn't make it promising for the Oxford Uni Press staff. :-)
Good luck! Hope you will get the job, that would be awesome!
Happy Birthday to Jess!!
Good Luck tomorrow!I can't wait to hear how it went! AND, I can't wait to see you tomorrow!! :)
Perhaps Albert should consider a career in sheepherding? Maybe a Danish version of Babe, called "Bichon"?
