"Walmart" i Danmark? Walmart in Denmark?

I found "grocery shopping heaven" today! I hate to shop at Walmart in America, but after my first weeks in Herning, I confess I miss ideas like Walmart where you can buy everything in one place. Shopping at Netto and Fotex and the "Farmers Market" to find everything we need is OK, but shopping at BILKA is MUCH BETTER! For instance, I don´t even like mustard, but BILKA has about 30 kinds of mustard to choose from!

We recycled our beer bottles first, and began to shop! Food, a lamp, sheets, wine, an ice chest, and things to clean the house....everything on our list! After two hours, we were finally ready to check out. Our plan is to drive to BILKA once every 4 to 6 weeks. It was great!!

Jeg ved I tror min opdagelse af BILKA er forbløffende, men jeg tror I vil nyde min ANDEN opdagelse denne weekend mere.... Kigge!
I know you believe my discovery of BILKDA is amazing, but I think you will enjoy min OTHER discovery this weekend more.... Look!

Explain how the recycling machine works? Is there some kind of conveyor belt?

That push mowing shit is for the birds! Screw the environment!

Jeg elsker Bilka!!! Good thing there's one near the place we live, otherwise I'd go crazy with limited choice for food. I don't mind shopping in specialized stores...it's more European.

Nice mower! It's even crazier than my eco sister's electric mower. Her's has this long cord like a vaccuum cleaner. I thought that was crazy! I mean, what's the fun of mowing your yard if you can't get high off the gasoline fumes in return? Just kidding of course...

Ok, yes that is a push mower with rotating blades...no gas, no electricity!! Thank god, we have a little yard! LOL

And the recycling is the coolest thing! First of all, if you throw those bottles away in your trash bin and they discover them, you are FINED big time!
Every grocery store has a "FLASKER INDLEVERING" where you deliver your bottles.... you slide the wine bottles in the top on the conveyor belt and then the Carlsberg crates, you just put in the whole thing..and it counts the # you are returning.
Then it spits out a slip of paper with DKK credits on it that you give to the clerk when you check out and she deducts the credit from the amt you are spending! If it was this simple in America, I know more people would do it!

We do a lot of recycling here...we return cans and plastic bottles. Put it in the machine one by one, then it gives you a ticket in the end. I've seen that kind of mower before. Good thing I don't have a yard.

no one ever believes us that they still use those kind of mowers here. I am so glad you have proof!
I cannot believe all that mustard at Bilka! Such a rarity to have so much variety!

My dear "in the old days" your mom & dad recycled all bottles....each time we took them back to the store and got credit for the ones we were purchasing...so I have much experience in this area....I think the US has just gotten to big and too lazy! I really love to see you doing manual labor in the yard - a picture is worth a thousand words..

Hej kelli, Vidste du at havearbejde er den bedste form for motion ? Så slipper du for at knokle i fitness centret og du kan være ude i naturen. Pas på Mads ikke ser dette så anskaffer han bare en større have, ha, ha.

I walked past my local recycle machine thing for months, looking at the queue and thinking it was an ATM/cash dispenser. One day there was no queue and I thought I may as well use that opportunity to get some money out.. :)
