Jess er taget afsted til Texas ... Jess is headed back to Texas

After 11 days, the time came to drive Jess and Stephen to the Billund Airport this morning. While I write this, they are flying west over the Atlantic. It was difficult, of course, but this picture helps me to feel a little better...

After she arrived in Amsterdam for her connection to Dallas, Jess sent a text to me to remind me about why we have our tattoos...about being "white" for each other when the other feels "black", so we keep each other balanced. It was SO SWEET!

Here are a few pictures from their last few days in Herning.

Familie aftensmad at feje Jess og Stephens sidste aften i Herning. Jess valgt "Krebshaler Etouffee" for mig at koge hende... Family dinner to celebrate Jess and Stephen´s last night in Herning. Jess chose "Crawfish Etoufee" for me to cook for her
It was precious to watch my Danish inlaws serve our Cajun food!

I can only imagaine how difficult it is to say goodbye. Great you have the dates scheduled for the next visit...hopefully lessens the heartache a bit.
I hope your dad is doing better.

We know you are sad to see Jess return to Texas. We are so happy that you were able to spend such quality time with her. We also think it is neat that you got your Danish relatives to try Cajun cooking.

Hope they had a smooth trip home.

Albert looks so funny to me now without all his fluffiness! LOL.

That's a perfect way to think about it... Jess didn't leave, she's coming back! :-)

And when Jess returns this time, you'll have so much to share with her about your new job and more things you have discovered in Denmark.

It looks like you had a nice evening. I'm curious about all the Cajun food you make.

I'm glad you had such a great time with Jess and Stephen!
