Imagine my surprise when I walked into a Herning shop yesterday and saw this:

There are many things from America I would like to have in Denmark (ie: JIF, Crystal Lite, and Velveeta), but Halloween is not one of them. I am not against Halloween, but it is not very "Danish", in my opinion. Danish life is "cozy" and Halloween is definitely "uncozy". I will continue to cross my fingers for other things (besides Halloween) to come across the Atlantic. I can hope...

You know, I've never thought of Halloween as just an American holiday...I assumed it was celebrated in other countries...Is this not the case?
So funny... Crystal Lite & Velveeta are always on my list of things to bring back with me... I think we ought to write to kraft & start sending Velveeta to Scandinavia

I so agree with you. I do not find this very "Danish" and it's too commercialized.

I can't even imagine the post the day you walk into the store and find Crystal Lite.
I went into fotex the other day and saw a section for Halloween as well. I never thought I would see this in Denmark. Tivoli also has reopens for a "special" Halloween event.
Oh, I am afraid I must disagree with you Kelli! I LOVE Halloween! I get so excited when I walk into stores and see all the commercialized crap because it means I can keep a bag of chocolate in a nice festive dish for the next month and a half and have an excuse!
