Halloween i Danmark?? Halloween in Denmark??

Forestille sig min overraskelse da jeg gik ind en Herning butik i går og så denne:
Imagine my surprise when I walked into a Herning shop yesterday and saw this:

Der er mange ting fra Amerika jeg gerne vil have i Danmark (fx: JIF, Crystal Lite, og Velveeta Ost), men Halloween er ikke en af dem. Jeg er ikke imod Halloween, men det er ikke meget "dansk" efter min mening. Dansk liv er "hyggelig" og Halloween er bestemt "uhyggelig". Jeg bliver ved med at krydse mine fingre for andre ting (foruden Halloween) at komme over Atlantik. Jeg kan håbe...

There are many things from America I would like to have in Denmark (ie: JIF, Crystal Lite, and Velveeta), but Halloween is not one of them. I am not against Halloween, but it is not very "Danish", in my opinion. Danish life is "cozy" and Halloween is definitely "uncozy". I will continue to cross my fingers for other things (besides Halloween) to come across the Atlantic. I can hope...

You know, I've never thought of Halloween as just an American holiday...I assumed it was celebrated in other countries...Is this not the case?

So funny... Crystal Lite & Velveeta are always on my list of things to bring back with me... I think we ought to write to kraft & start sending Velveeta to Scandinavia

what a waste of pumpkin. We can't get any at all 345 days of the year :(

I so agree with you. I do not find this very "Danish" and it's too commercialized.

that jack-o-lantern is cute. :)
I can't even imagine the post the day you walk into the store and find Crystal Lite.

I went into fotex the other day and saw a section for Halloween as well. I never thought I would see this in Denmark. Tivoli also has reopens for a "special" Halloween event.

Oh, I am afraid I must disagree with you Kelli! I LOVE Halloween! I get so excited when I walk into stores and see all the commercialized crap because it means I can keep a bag of chocolate in a nice festive dish for the next month and a half and have an excuse!
