Do you remember when I wrote about my problem with remembering to turn on the lights before I drive?!? I made something to help me remember...and now, I always have my lights on when I drive! No tickets for me, right?!? Right!!!
Hver bil i danmark har en lille rund "ur" på bilens vindue. Du bruge uren i parkeringplads fordi 99% af parkeringplads er ikke fri! Du stille uren når du ankommer, og den er meget nem! Undtagen uren er på passageren vindue, så du ikke kigge på den tit OG hvis du kommer fra amerika, du er ikke vant til at have at stille en ur hver gang du park! Parkeringbøde for mig?!? JA!!! Og du skal aldrig tro hvor mange den er!!!
Every car in Denmark has a little round "clock" on the car´s window. You use the clock in parking lots because 99% of parking lots are not free! You set the clock when you arrive and it is very easy! Except the clock is on the passenger´s window so you don´t look at it very often AND if you come from America, you are not used to having to set a clock every time you park! Parking ticket for me?!? YES!!! And you will never believe how much it is!!

They don't have free parking? What about if you ride a bike?
Do I need to go onto the translator site to see how much this amounts to in my kind of money??

I knew that parking tickets were expensive but never knew the exact amount.... so thanks for doing that research for me ;)
With the value of the dollar where it is now, it is about 100 USD... and yes, parking the bike is free... however, I am still not DANISH enough to bike in the rain or really chilly days... I guess it will come.
All i know is that of my BIG 4 hours I worked last week , it takes TWO OF THEM to pay for this ticket! RIDICULOUS! we considered pulling the "dumb American card" but Mads did not think it would make any difference to the TRAFFIC GODS!
Hi Kelli... sry for the misfortune of getting a ticket. But on the bright side (and it seems that you're always looking for the sun... haha... bad Denmark joke, sry) is that your car didn't get towed. I never thought about it, but is it common for cars to get towed in DK, or at least in Herning where you are?
I'm glad you and Albert are ok... that's another bright side :-)
That is an expensive lesson - Mads should not allow you to drive until you have all the rules figured out....
