On Sunday four Nørgaards and one dog traveled to Northern Jutland to visit Thomas´ siblings and to show the newest Nørgaard another region in Denmark. This is an extra special region because it is where my father-in-law and all the Nørgaards came from. It was a wonderful day and Albert and I enjoyed every kilometer we traveled and every "Nørgaard" we met! I felt welcomed into the family again and again, plus it was so fun to watch my father-in-law with his sisters because he is their "little brother"!! I am learning more and more that Danmark is a little country in size, but ONLY in size! It has a language with 63 dialects (Do you have sympathy for me yet?!) og many unique regions throughout the country. Here are some pictures from our journey through North Jutland....
We wait to cross the Limfjord (the largest fjord in Denmark which flows from the North Sea to the Kattegat Sea) until a wooden ship passes under the bridge, so the bridge can be lowered.
Vi besøgte Mads tante i Fjerritslev.
We visited Mads´ aunt in Fjerritslev.
Albert´s first experience with sand at the North Sea and the beach. He LOVED to run on the sand!
En ørns rede langs med vejen.
An eagle´s nest along the road.
In Aabybro I meet Mads´ precious aunt Ruth, who is his godmother.
We have coffee and cake with the oldest Nørgaard sibling, Alice, who, I can see, has a special place in her heart for Thomas.
We visited the cemetary where Mads´ grandparents are buried....Nørgaards and Thellufsens. Now, every boy in our family has the name "Thellufsen" as his middle name.
A Viking grave along the road in North Jutland. (You know it is a "Viking´s grave" because it is a hill on a hill.)
Albert helps Mads drive back to Herning while I have an English lesson with Thomas and Taimi.

Love the pic of the two drivers!! Too cute.
But I do have a question...How the heck did Mads get so tall. He is a complete giant next to the rest of his family!! Wait. I mean he is Viking sized next to the rest of his family!!
:)
Miss ya!
I never seen a Viking grave before, it's quite interesting.
Mads' godmother is so short....about as tall as MoMo -she is really cute.
I think Albert has been hanging out with Toonces the driving cat a bit too often!
Beautiful pics! Everyone looks great!
Aww..Albert! I want to pet that little curly head so much!
What a great way to spend a Sunday! It must have been extra special for Mads to make this journey this time with you to show you some of his family history and "show you off" to some other family members. :)What cities where you in up there? We spent some time on the coast of the North sea by the Limfjord several years ago and thought it was just lovely!
