"NQDI" teased me that he cannot keep up with "where I am now", but yesterday, as Jess flew south and I flew east, I arrived back in "the real world". Our last day in Chicago included a little more shopping on Michigan Avenue, meeting a new friend, and promising myself I will NEVER ride a bike i Chicago unless ALL the cab drivers move from the city! They are absolutely crazy!
Farvel Michigan Avenue--for nu! Men vi skal være tilbage!
Goodbye Michigan Avenue--for now! But we will be back!
Last week I received an email from a friend in Houston. I met Kevin last year when Shelly and I were in Houston for work--Shelly and Kevin became great friends a few years ago through blogger. In her email, Kevin told me that her daughter had moved to Chicago in Juni with her company, Jason´s Deli, so guess where Jess and I ate lunch yesterday?! Yep! Jason´s Deli in Chicago with Kevin´s daughter, Emily. She was so sweet and we had a great visit together! (And she bought our lunch for us!) Blogger has brought so many wonderful people into my life, and it reminds me how small the world really is!
In the plane from Amsterdam to Billund today, I sat next to a man who was coming to Denmark on business, and this was his first time in Europe. We talked a little about his first stamp in his passport, about the weather in Denmark and about the company he works for (whose head office is in Jutland, but his office is in America) and when he asked me why I was flying to Denmark, I heard myself answer, "I am coming home."

Oh that last line gave me chills...
So glad you got to meet up with Miss Em! She truly enjoyed getting to meet you both, and was glad that Sundays are kinda slow at her store. More time to spend chatting with you guys.
How fantastic! I find myself saying it too and it is wild! I can only imagine what your seat mate was thinking! ;) Especially after his visit!
Ooh I missed these postings. Wow. I bet you had great time with your daughter. Now I feel like I want my mammy too :(
Oh wow. I have a long way to go before reaching the point of saying I am coming home upon returning to Denmark. At this point, whenever I return here from another country, I always have feelings of uncertainty. I hope that is normal at my stage? Sorry for commenting on such an old post, but I am enjoying going through what you felt/thought when you were a little more new here :)
