Happy Thanksgiving

Today people are celebrating Thanksgiving in America...with turkey, American football, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and tables filled with family and friends. I am happy to announce that Thanksgiving is not only being celebrated in America...it has also come to Denmark! The turkey is in the oven, the vegetables are cooking on the stove, the table is set and the apple pies are ready! In two hours our Thanksgiving day guests will arrive at our house---sixteen friends and family members will sit together in Herning Denmark, to celebrate how thankful we are. I will write a blog about our evening together, but first I want to tell my American friends who live in Scandinavia "HAPPY THANKFUL DAY" (yes, I made that phrase up because Thanksgiving does not exactly translate to Danish!) because I am so thankful for their friendships--both online and in "real" life!

Glædelig Taknemmelig Dag til / Happy Thanksgiving to:

Nichole & Michael i Lyngby DK
Patti & Ole i Karup DK
Monica & Finn i Gullestrup DK
Stephanie & Kjartan --Lund Sweden
Amy & Stig --Helgøya Norway
Tressa & Bjørn --Frederikstad Norway
Holly & Chuck -- Denmark
Tara & her "crew"-- Århus DK

Awwwhhhh. Happy Thankful Day to you too!!

We too had a turkey and "all the fixings". Grandma even taught me all her cooking tricks too. :) We invited some Danish friends over to show off our traditions... They were most amused with Candied Yams (sweet potatoes with brown sugar and roasted marshmallows on top). Who says Marshmallows can't be eaten at dinner! :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner with friends and family of Kelli and Mads. We have had a wonderful trip but are ready to head home to Texas. Tomorrow morning we will get on the plane at 645 am and will be home in Dallas by 2 pm. It has been an amazing trip!
