Yesterday I learned another tradition with the Danes--J DAY! Usually on Fridays, Danes wait for work to end and the weekend to begin, but yesterday, they waited for something else. Because J-Day is the day when Tuborg and other breweries release this year's Christmas beer!
What is Christmas beer? Special beer you can only buy during the few weeks before Christmas, of course! And why is this so exciting to the Danes? Because it is beer, of course (and it means Christmas is close, too!) Last night Mads came home, so excited because he had just bought his first 6 Pack of Christmas beer, and he wanted me to try it! And I must say..... It tasted really good!!!

But did you know: The tradition of Christmas beer has become more than just a marketing gimic! After 27 years with Danes drinking beer from bottles decorated with snow, the word "J-day" is now i the Danish dictionary. So it is not "just beer"! :o)

That's exciting! Must tell hubby to buy beer not!
Did you know they also sell Christmas stamp seal for charity (I think)? Even the Queen designed the seal once in 73.
I'm so excited for Christmas:)
We have a German friend who's so crazy about julebryg that he usually visits in November, because one year he was *gasp* unable to buy the julebryg in Germany.
Amazing! We have jul öl or Christmas beer in Sweden too. However, they make much more fuss about the Christmas aquavit that comes out every year.
I love the packaging. The crafter in me is looking at the labels and thinking of all sorts of craft ideas for it :D
