Vores Sidste Dage Sammen ... Our Last Days Together

The Danish weather switched back to "normal" on Wednesday, so many of my plans had to change, also. We told my parents on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday that they were LUCKY because we had four days with SUNSHINE and no rain (ok, a little snow, but no rain!!) So on Wednesday when the rain, the cold wind and the grey sky arrived, we said to them..."Welcome to the REAL Denmark!" So since Wednesday, we have had many "relaxation days", but it was OK because I think I wore them out with all the things I planned during their first five days here!

Thursday was Thanksgiving dinner....it was a great night!

Monica and Finn's kids brought Thanksgiving decorations to me!

On Friday we drove to Silkeborg and we showed my favorite town in Denmark to my parents.

We ate dinner at Marco Polo, our fave restaurant, and my dad ACTUALLY ate caviar!

Today we walked to downtown Herning so my parents could eat a real Danish Hot Dog and see a house with a straw roof up close!

Our last thing to do together, before we drove home so mom and dad could wash their clothes and pack, was coffee with my inlaws. My mother in law had made HOMEMADE æbleskiver and my father in law had made HOMEMADE gløgg for us. We had a WONDERFUL AFTERNOON together...talking and laughing and enjoying each other. It was so special for Mads and I to watch our parents talk and understand each other... especially when we talked about future trips with each other. We are certain that this is only the first of many visits with our families.

Glad your parents got to see "Real Denmark". Michaels parents never saw real Denmark so they think we are insane when we tell them about the bad weather.... they just say, no way..Denmark has amazing weather. lol.

Maybe your mom can write a guest blog post to tell us what she thought about Denmark ;)

Kelli, your dad looks wonderful especially after his recent heart problems. We hope he feels good, too. It was great to read about your parents' visit with your in-laws. You are all special people! Thanks for sharing their visit with us.
