En uge er ikke nok... A week is not enough

Min lille pige er vokset op ..... My little girl has grown up.....

I realized this completely as we were about to leave her at the security counter at the Billund Airport. I asked her if he she had any questions about the trip or Schiphol Airport--and she rolled her eyes, grinned and said, "Mom, I know how to do this!"

After 13 years in the American public schools, she is finished with school on
May 30, 2009 and is ready to start her university classes in June.

We had an AMAZING time with Jess and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to experience my first Danish Christmas with her! Also, I am so thankful to have a family in Denmark who loves my daughter in the same way that my own family does! One week was not enough, so next step.....plan Jess´ trip in March to Denmark!

Jess and her "bonus dad" as he calls himself..much better than stepdad! :o)

Albert elsker at have en teenager i huset igen!

Albert loves having a teenager around again!

She´s ready for a night out in Herning!

Jess´ fave food in Denmark is crabs from the North Sea... and Mads makes sure that we have them every time she comes!

Min veninde, Marta, træffer endelig Jess!
My friend Marta finally gets to meet Jess!

I toget til Århus, for vores sidste dag sammen. Pige-dag er altid den bedste!
On the train to Århus for our last day together. Girls´day is always the best!

Everyone talked to Jess about how great the Danish universities are.... in hopes that she might decide to attend college in Denmark (for free!!). In fact, Mads´ mom told Jess about the plan she had made ....Jess could go to school in Århus during the week and then take the train back home to Herning every weekend! :o) Jess loves that everyone wants her to move to Denmark, but as of now, her plan is to attend college in Texas....

Oh - only a week.. the time must have flown by!

Maybe she'll come over to Denmark for an exchange year or something?

Love that picture of the two of you with Albert peeping out from behind Jess!

WOW! Kelli, she is so beautiful! Looks just like you! Aren't you just a little bit nervous having her attend university so far away?

Too bad she was only there for a week. She really should go to University in Denmark. What will she be studying?

I would kill to transfer to a Danish college...but I my Danish is not good enough. Still, maybe I will manage a semester there studying language, if I can get that scholarship I'm workin' on!
