Julegave til os.... Christmas gift to us

A couple months ago, Mads and I decided to buy one Christmas present together. Something that we wanted for the house that both of us could enjoy.....a flatscreen tv! We knew that the shops would have "after Christmas sales" on them, so we planned to wait to give our gift to each other until after Christmas. We received Christmas money from my parents and then on Thursday we received the ads from all the electronics stores in Herning and saw "the one"....the tv that we wanted......on sale for half-price, but the price was only good for shoppers who were brave enough to come out VERY EARLY Friday morning. I have been to many "after Christmas sales at Early O´clock" the day after Christmas, where people run through shops to search for all the things they planned to buy, but Denmark does things a bit differently.
We wait in front of El Giganten at 630am and just before the store opens at 7am, a man comes out to explain to us HOW the process works! I was so impressed with how organized this was!
Denmark uses ques in most places.....the post office, bakery, pharmacy, butcher, and now, "the after Christmas sales!!! (It took me many many weeks to remember to "take a ticket" when I shopped in these places! )
"Yes, a 1994 Honda Civic is a great car, but a 42inch plasma tv cannot stand up in there! It will be necessary for you to come back with a trailer to pick up your tv!"
HALF PRICE with CHRISTMAS MONEY to use---we are QUITE HAPPY with our purchase!!
Glædelig Jul til Mads og Kelli!
Merry Christmas to Mads and Kelli!

Wow! We are still saving for a TV. May I ask how much you paid for it, if you don't mind?

BF--4999dkk... the cheapest we have found in many many months! 42inch plasma... it was regularly 10999. Most of the plasmas were over 10000dkk for about the last 6 months. I think the economic crisis has caused them to worry about sales, so they figured selling more on sale is better than not selling any at all! their loss is our gain!

Our mutual friend who watches wagonloads of TV also got a flatscreen for Christmas; I've barely heard from him all break and I've not seen him once! Wonder if he'll remember to come back to work in January.

Your TV is gorgeous!

And they have that ticket-taking system at IKEA in Frisco at the returns desk. You're right, it's hard to remember to do that!

Great that you got the present you wanted!

LOL - it does take ages to remember to take the queue tickets with the little numbers on them... Much too organized!
