2 nye venner .... 2 new friends

Saturday night we drove to Vejle, a town about 40 km southest of Herning because we were invited to dinner at the home of Dorthe and Sandy. Dorthe is Mads´cousin and I have written about her before... "Mads and Dorthe". We had a great time and ate some incredible food--Dorthe made everything with a Greek theme and it was amazing... and it was all vegetarian, so I was quite the happy girl! We talked quite a bit about their many trips all over Europe and Mads and I got so many ideas for future trips--Especially in northern Germany, which is only 2 hours from Herning. They told us about all the "hidden places" that you cannot see from the highway. We drove through Germany in August, but it was such a disappointment to me, not at all what I expected! Now I know that we just did not visit all the "good places"! We borrowed a book from them about "Northern Germany" so we can plan some small weekend trips this spring and summer. The only thing missing Saturday night was Albert because he went to visit Farfar and Farmor while we drove to Vejle, but I think that he will want to come with us next time because I made two new friends that I think Albert will like to meet....Blackie og Simba, Dorthe and Sandy´s two"kids". Maybe all 7 of us can take a trip together sometime in the future! :o) It is good to have friends who love their dogs as much as we love Albert and who love to take them everywhere in the same way that we take Albert!
Albert er klar for en "Vej-tur"!!
Albert is ready for a road-trip!

Albert is seriously adorable. Great that you are forging new friendships here in Denmark. Meeting new people is one of the best things about living abroad!

I have to admit to having a personal rule about not reading blogs that feature too many gratuitous pet shots or posts. The same goes for baby or 'this is what I ate tonight' gratuity (IS gratuity a word LOL?).

But Albert has changed all that.

I want mooooooooore of Albert! He is simply the most adorable little fellow and I love his expression. Can you tell us more? I haven't scoured your archives for details so is there a definitive Albert post that tells us where he came from etc..did you bring him over from the US?

And ooooh! *bites knuckles* do you have any puppy shots?

I swear, that pic of his expression as he takes the wheel has brightened my day up no end. What a precious soul.

Oh to see the world through Albert's eyes.

Oh they were beautiful dogs!! I love collies but think a Sheltie would be nice compromise, I think I'm not getting anymore big dogs (other then Leos) although I saw a Boerboel on The Dog Whisperer last night and fell in love...but no...no, it will be a small dog next time I think...

Hope you'll share any of the great hidden finds you discover on your travels. I have had the same misfortune as you when I was finally out and about travelling, we went to Tallin and everyone talked about how wonderful it was there and the beautiful old romantic old part of the town but I didn't see that, only the newer part and it was UGLY and old burnt homes...horrible...people told me I just went to the wrong places..so I'd be willing to gamble and go back someday...but it helps to know exactly where to go so you don't waste time!!!
Albert is just too cute...can't wait to see him someday with all the lionesses...hahahaha...

Kelli, I have been practicing my German lately, so if you go to Germany, I can come with you as your translator! :D At least, I can ask all the Germans how they are doing...
