I do not like math or anything associated with math, but I can do math if I MUST. For example, I know that everyday has 24 hours and every week has seven days, of which only five of those are work/school days. Right??! My mathematic side of my brain told me that if I have been going to Danish school 4 days a week and now, I have a job where I work 5 days a week, and it is not possible to do both. So now what?! I cannot stop my Danish lessons.... it is too important! I cannot give up my new job because we like to have money for groceries! AND I cannot go to Danish school at night because I am still teaching English for International Communication 2 nights a week! Oh....my brain hurts from all these math problems!
Crisis solved! I have a solution and it does not include any math! I can enroll in NET DANSK, the online Danish class! But to be able to do that, I must take the exam for module 3.3 although I am not technically finished with the classes.... so yesterday, I took the test. They gave me 90 minutes to complete my 4 reading tests and 2 writing tests ... and I only used 40 minutes, and I passed! So on Monday, I begin Module 3.4 on NET DANSK (And then 3.5 is my last module!!) Maybe Mads will study with me so my lessons are not so lonely! :o)

Woo hoo! You go girl! No doubt you would ace the test... I tested out of all of my Norwegian classes after only 80 hours....(not sure that was such a great thing because I DETEST writing in Norwegian----)
COngratulations!
For someone who doesn't like maths, you're pretty smart! :-)
Can I take net Dansk before I move to Copenhagen or do you have to take the first courses in person?
Good luck with the netdansk then :)
Stephanie-- the Kommune pays for the Danish classes for newcomers to DK that are under the integration law( which I assume you are since you are also married to a Dane). You will have a meeting at the kommune to set everything up and then they send the approval to the Lærdansk in your area. So I assume you must be here first...however if you already have your CPR number for DK,it may be worth a try to call the Kommune where you guys are moving to and ask them?! Or have your sweet husband do it so he can speak in Danish to them....
Congrats Kelli! I am so proud of you. I went back to evening classes at the University- I hope to do PD 3 in May. I tried Net Dansk before but I just didnt have the discipline to see it through. Im sure you are going to do a better job. Just the fact that you already have a blog in Danish says a lot about your drive and motivation!! Good Luck!!
Hello- I'm back!!! I must admit, I jumped over all the math talk...you went on a bit too long for me about numbers and I got lost...so I jumped to the important part- the solution!! CONGRATULATIONS with your passing the Danish testing! You are doing fantastic for only being in the country a short while- it's very very promising for your future!!! You are probably an einstein under all that beauty!! ;-)) Glad you worked out the schedule so you don't have to give anything up- groceries are very important ;-))
Have a great weekend!!!
Og en stor tillykke i dig! Du også hav arbejdet så hårdt!
Jeg er så glad for dig... could I use lykkelig instead of "glad"? I just like saying "lykkelig." lol
Miami next wkend... then plans for Denmark to visit Mac will be after that. :-)
Have fun! It's much easier to learn a language when you have a personal coach.
Congrats!
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! You inspire this soon to be Danish expat. Kraig and I are starting up our next class the end of this month. I like you, want to master this "hold a hot potato in your mouth" language. You deserve a huge pat on the back.
Hello Kelli. A lot of good comments on your math and language problems, but not one single comment on your husbands job situation, or am I wrong. That´s more serious to my opinion. Well, God created obstackles, but he also gave humans the brain, will and currage to clear them. I´m confident that Mads will find a way to clear this one.
