Historie laves i går i USA. 144 år siden, var vores land var i krig om slaveri og i dag, Barak Obama vil vågne op i Hvid Hus som den 44. Præsident af USA. Jeg kan ikke tro at dette skete i min levetid! WOW.
History was made yesterday in the United States. 144 years ago our country was fighting a war about slavery, and today, Barak Obama will wake up in the White House as the 44th President of the United States. I cannot believe this happened in my lifetime! WOW.

It was an amazing day - As I watched the Inauguration, tears came to my eyes. We have come a long way and it feels good!

Obamas holdninger - et reality-tjek
Mange er blevet forført at hans håbefulde taler og hans indtagende karisma. Men få danskere ved, hvad USA's nye præsident Barack Obama egentlig står for som politikere.
Vi har hørt de store ord og kender til de store politiske linjer og visioner som 'change' og hans ønske om samle den amerikanske befolkning. Men hvad betyder det helt konkret?
Nogle af Obamas holdninger kan komme som en overraskelse for danskerne.

1) Går ind for dødsstraf.
2) Er imod homoseksuelle vielser.

Okay... I'll be brave and say it.
I don't think it's a big deal that he is black. Maybe I'm too young, or maybe because I've lived where being white was a minority so I just don't pay attention to race. I sincerely don't look at him and see a black person though. I've been taught to ignore race for so long I guess I finally do.
HOWEVER, I realize our country has come a long way and that is wonderful... so I guess that is what is important.
I DO think he looks really young though. :) And I thought it was cute he kinda "messed up" saying his oath... showed he was a real person who was nervous.
