One thing that Mads loves about Danish is something called "Kelli´s translations" because I have this special way of looking at Danish words! The first time we drove on the highway from Copenhagen to Herning, I laughed so hard when I saw the sign that said "HUSK FART KONTROL"! It was to remind people that when they drive, they must pay attention to their speed (fart=speed), but I translated it as "Remember to control your farts".
Jeg huskede skiltet på motorvejen i går da vi så dette skilt--- Bådfarten-Himmelbjerget". Det var et skilt om "motor båd" at du kan sejle til Himmelbjerget (Danmarks kun "bjerg"), men jeg tænker at vi har brug for dette skilt i vores badværelse! Kellis oversættelser er mere sjov end aktuel betydning, synes du ikke? :o)
I remember the sign on the highway yesterday when we saw this sign--Bådfarten-Himmelbjerget". The sign is to advertise the motor boat you can take to Himmelbjerg (Denmark´s only "mountain"), but I think that maybe we need this sign advertising Bad Farts in our bathroom! Kelli´s translations are much more fun than the actual meanings, don´t you think? :o)
PS: Min blog er i "en blog karneval"!! Tryk her og læs! Tak, LadyFi for inklusiver mig! Jeg synes dette er en rigtig god ide´og jeg er stolt at være i din karneval!

Oh that is funny!!!
I know we used a translater thingy with Hubbys Family in Slovakia...and the results were hilarious!
HAHHA....when I lived there I would take pictures of those very same husk fart signs! I thought they were hilarious.
Hey there!
Yes, "Husk Fart Kontrol" is my favorite sign. The first time I saw it... well, I was very glad my husband was driving as I wasn't able to see through the tears of laughter for a good long time.
I also really love "Kreature Passage." I only saw the sign once, out near Rønde and all I could think of was the character from Harry Potter creeping across the road.
I love the sign and can see how it would make anyone who speaks English laugh like crazy. Congratulations on being in the blog carnival. I'm not quite sure how that works. Do you have to join another expat blog for that. It didn't seem clear to me when I read it. Keep the Fart under Kontrol please.
I love those signs. Here in Sweden we have Utfarts (outward bound), Infart (incoming) and Fart hinder - a cork to stop them from coming out?
And thanks for your kind words about the Blog Carnival... it was a lot of work, but now I feel good because you and some others seem to have enjoyed it.
Yeah I like Kelli's translations better too. And the fart word got me for a long time, it still does. When I feel like being really honery I really lay on as thick of an American accent as I can when I say these Norwegians words...I think it's the rebel in me...hahahaha...
Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Chris Pontius, the hosts of Jackass took part in the Gumball 3000 Rally in 2001 which went through Denmark that year.
When they passed the town Middelfart the Jackass guys couldn't stop laughing.

Okay. As usual I am clueless when it comes to the Danish part of your blog, but could NOT stop laughing when I read the English translation. Lovin' the Kelli-isms...I mean translations! :)
Hello Kelli. It´s funny that you are so amazed about our windmills. In fact, my brother in law was one of the inventors many years ago. He is still working with alternativ energi, but now it´s mainly about wave energi. I´ll try and find some pictures from the "Wava Dragon" which is placed in the Nissum Bredning and still on trial bases.
