The days are getting longer and longer. I took this picture from our bedroom window at 4:45pm Thursday! Only one month ago, it was already dark at 3:45! Summer is coming!
Albert loves to eat RED BELL PEPPERS! My mother in law told me that he ate them at her house, but I had never given them to him before! Maybe he is a vegetarian like his momma?
I found a new spice in the supermarket last night. Usually I use my Cajun spice called "Slap Ya Mama" with everything, but I am excited to try my new discovery called "TEXAS"!! I am curious to find out how the Danes think "Texas" tastes!
Da jeg flyttede til Danmark, syntes jeg at rugbrød smagte ikke så godt......men nu, spiser jeg det ofte! Høj kostfiber og høj smag!
When I moved to Denmark, I thought that rugbrød (dark rye bread that the Danes eat every day!) was not so yummy.....but now, I eat it all the time! High fiber and high taste!
Today is a sad day at the Nørgaard house...because this pitcher represents our LAST package of Crystal Lite ice tea and we have 5 weeks left until Jess gets here!

Loved this post... although Crystal Lite Tea? Can't you make your own iced tea?
LOL at the picture of Albert. My dog loves veggies and even soja sausages!
Funny name for the Cajun spice:p I don't like rye bread but ate it anyway at a family friend's house. Maybe I will eventually get used to it. Do you care to share your Cajun recipes? :D
Good Morning Denmark...this is Norway via Texas calling...
First, of course your dog loves veggies, mine do too. Try cucumber that is always popular. But do not give grapes ok? I use to do this until I found out it can kill them. Uff...
Texas spice I think I've had here, they are never as spicy as the real Texas spices..but better then nothing when you're livin in the artic...hahahaha...
Poor Kelli and Mads all out of tea...you know they sell tea drink products in Norway so I'm sure they must in Denmark, but for me who thinks nothing beats suntea with some plain ol' sugar in it...these flavored tea drinks fail me..five weeks goes quickly and just think how light it will be when Jess comes with your new tea supply!!!!
Have a super day Denmark!!!!
Sorry to hear about your Crystal Light... I know your pain and wish I could help. :( I have some kool-aid??
You must be destined to be a Dane. I try to eat that dark bread every few months... can't do it.
FIVE weeks!!!! A Texas girl has GOT to have her tea!!!
I have yet to try the Crystal Light tea. Do you know if they have a green tea version?
Have you not received your Care Package from the States yet?? There is some "slap your mamma" and Peach tea....so quit whining.
Lady Fi..there is nothing quite like Crystal Lite Peach tea... 5 calories a glass and gives you a "sugar" fix, with no sugar! I do not drink soda so it is my "sweet"..and now my mother in law AND husband LOVE IT!!
And Amy, sun tea is great.. I agree, but we are LACKING SUN for that! I will definitely do it starting in May... lol, but for now, it would be dark cloudy tea!
And no, mom...no package yet... so I reserve the right to whine until it arrives!! :o)
and sure BF... Cajun recipes can be shared.... as long as you like spicy! I will start adding some on here....
I know that thin, but dense, dark rye bread -- Whole Foods has a few varieties -- I believe it's from Germany, tho. It's really good toasted with butter or olive oil and some garlic!
Allen is getting a Whole Foods @ Stacy and 75! No more hauling-a to Plano :-D
Kelli, you are so lucky with the rye bread...I miss danish rye bread...and leverpostej like crazy!
I grew up hearing "mmmm mmmm that is so good it'l make you slap ya mamma"! I think real tea is much better but I feel your pain. You are a little spoiled by your mother ;)
I used the Texas spice often in DK. Before we left I made sure to peel off a lable so I could remember everything in it so I can make my own. :)
I have no idea how im going to catch up on your blog. If I blink my eyes, (or got out of town for almost a week) I miss sooooooo much!
I love spicy food! I can't live without hot sauce.
Whoah, you're vegetarian? I am very anxious to hear how that worked out. I eat meat, on rare occasions, but I have a religiously instilled horror of any product of pig, or shellfish that I can't seem to shake in adulthood, and Denmark scares me for that reason. And as far as preferences go, I prefer to eat veg 99% of the year, excepting a yearly steak and maybe Southern fried chicken once a year. How hard is it for you in Denmark, as a vegetarian? I'm so afraid I'll never be able to eat anything!
