My car in America was a 2006 Nissan with many things that made driving easier and more comfortable. I could NEVER have this car in Denmark with our 185% car tax, so I am VERY HAPPY to have our Honda Civic. However, I was nervous about driving without ONE THING from my Nissan because I was SO used to it! Even though I was a former geography teacher, I "needed" my navigation mirror every time I drove! Especially in Downtown Dallas!
But Denmark has come to my rescue! We have signs all over Denmark that tells us where north, south, east and west are....as you long you know where the cities are! For example- Silkeborg is east of Herning, so the sign that says "Silkeborgvej/Silkeborg Road" tells me "EAST" and Viborg is north of Herning, so the sign that says "Viborgvej/Viborg Road" tells me "NORTH". So smart! Just as good as my navigation mirror!

Very smart signs!
Well now that you know what roads go what direction every thing will be GooD!!! just dont get lost... (in a country the size of dallas)
I think you could still get lost unless you know the system...probably why all those navigation thingys are so popular now in the electronics store. I would love to have one but don't- YET...so I still get lost...don't laugh please...hahahaha...ok...I laughed so I guess you can!!!
Det var rigtig smart, dem har jeg aldrig set. Tror ikke disse spejl-GPS findes i DK
My stupid GPS system in my car gets mad at me if I tell it where I want to go and then change my mind and don't go there. It starts repeating the directions to me in an endless loop until I hit the "disconnect" button to shut the thing up.
185% car tax? For real?
Shelly---yep...185% ...no exaggeration! The highest car tax in the world...
shows how serious they are about getting green and we all drive older cars! LOL
And when we use the GPS system that we borrow from a friend to take trips, "she" yells at us Danish... TIL HØJRE DAMMIT! LOL
Better Place Denmark Takes Important Step

lol your GPS system comment made me laugh.... how about GPS through your mobile phone service? so it won't matter what car or bike you're using lol
Congrats on getting used to what cities surround Herning and the directions they're in! :-)
Aw, you can learn to do anything. :) I'm from a tiny country place in TN, with no traffic a'tall, and when I moved to Dallas I bought a stick shift. I took one practice session with a friend in a deserted parking lot and then "learned" the rest of the way in Dallas rush hour traffic driving to work every day. Fortunately people in Dallas are so nice that hardly anyone was shitty about my stallouts on the freeway. ;)
