Nyheder ... News

This will be short...
and after you have read it, you will understand why.
Good news--We survived for 6 months on just Mads´ salary.
Good news--I got a job and started it on January 5th so now we have two salaries.

Og nu de dårlige nyheder--Mads er en investment rådgiver hos Alm. Brand Bank i Danmark.

And now the bad news-- Mads is an investment advisor with Alm. Brand Bank in Denmark. They have made "cuts" the last three months because of the global economic crisis. Alm. Brand announced on Wednesday that the office in Herning is being shut down March 1 as part of their next round of cuts. So this means that Mads must find another job before May 1, which is when his salary will stop.

Noget vil ske for os.....vi har oplevet så mange gode ting sammen allerede, så vi er sikker på at noget god, eller noget bedre, kommer...
Something will happen for us.....we have already experienced so many good things together, so we are certain that something good, or something better, is coming....

Oh Kelli, I am sorry to hear that. Its great that the both of you are keeping up a positive spirit. Thats why I was so determined to get a job myself, in case something happens with Thomas' job. I am very sure Mads will have no problem finding a second job, the question is where will you be moving to if the job is located elsewhere, copenhagen, aarhus, etc. Will your job be flexible enough to accomodate a change in location. Thomas and I have been thinking of visiting you guys sometime soon, perhaps in a weekend or two and we can catch up and talk.

Oh no! I AM so sorry to hear about Mads' job. Thank goodness you now have a job though...

I don't know what the job situation is like in Denmark. But I presume that banks or companies somewhere will still need financial advisors?

I love your positive attitude - I'm sure this will help you guys a lot.

I am so sorry for Mads (and you!). This whole nightmare just seems to go on and on and on. It's like the world is just...stopping. Still, thank goodness you have a job now. Like you, in my own head, if it happens, I'm just thinking somehow we'll get through. And at least for you, by May, it will be warmer and lighter - which always makes things easier!

I hope Mads will find a good job soon, meanwhile just hang in there. It's good that you got a job at a good time so there'll be still income pouring in.

Is he a member of A-kasse? (Unemployment insurance?) I hope he does because it helps a lot

Does Denmark have a version of the Chippendale dancers there? He could always earn a living that way because you got a hottie for a hubby! LOL
But on a serious note....I hate to hear this news. I send good vibes your way. Stay positive.
And I leave you with some lyrics from Charlottes Web....

Chin up, Chin up
Put a little laughter in your eyes
Brave it, save it
Even though you're feeling otherwise
Rise up, wise up
Make a little smile begin
You'll be happy hearted
Once you get it started
Up with your chinny chin chin!

I am a strong believer in "when one door closes another door opens". This is Mads chance to get his Dream Job! Tell him I know this sucks but stay focused on his dreams.

We will keep you and Mads in our thoughts -- wishing for good things to come your way! Mads is such a good guy, very charismatic and smart -- any company would be lucky to have him. And he speaks various languages... AND he's mathy! :-)

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. You're right though...something WILL happen for you. Something better is in store...The tone of this blog entry is evidence of this...

Lay offs are happening big time here too. Nortel declared bankruptcy, and TI is going to be doing major layoffs soon most likely. We are hoping Lucy doesn't loose her job because she recently transferred to a new area and she's the low woman on the totem pole at the moment.

All you can do it roll with and know something else is around the corner. Sometimes these things end up being blessing in disguise.

Hej Kellie-
So sorry to hear about Mads' job. This darn global economic crisis is hitting a lot of people I know. Should I write Bush a personal note and thank him? My favorite motto...when you get lemons, make lemonade (My cupeth overfloweth with lemonade when I worked in government!) Best wishes.

Good Luck to Mads. I hope the right/perfect job finds it's way to him, just like it did for you.
