Krop, tanker og sjæl. At være sund betyder at alle 3 er OK (eller MERE END OK). Tro mig--jeg ved hvordan vigtig det er at passe alle 3! Sidste år havde jeg så mange stress i mit liv--den værste oplevelse i mit profesionnele liv, et "syv måneder spreadsheet" med alting at gøre før den 17. juni, flytning til et nyt land uden et job, venner, og ikke så meget dansk, forlader mine familie og venner i Amerika og kendskabet at Jess og jeg ville have en sø imellem os. Lyder dårligt, jeg ved, men jeg overlevede. Faktisk overlede jeg kun ikke---jeg overlevede og forblev sund i processen. MEN HVORDAN?
Body, mind and spirit. To be healthy means that all 3 are OK (or MORE THAN OK). Believe me--I know how important it is to take care of all 3! Last year I had so many stresses in my life--the worst experience in my professional life, a 7 month spreadsheet with everything I had to do before June 17, moving to a new country without a job, friends and not so much Danish, leaving my family and friends in America and the knowledge that Jess and I would have an ocean in between us. Sounds awful, I know, but I survived. In fact, I did not only survived--I survived and remained healthy in the process. BUT HOW?
Yoga. Jeg lavede yoga fire gange om ugen. Min krop var i bedre form end nogensinde. Mine tanker var klar og fokuset på goden. Og min sjæl var positiv og ro. Jeg overlevede en af mit mest svært år fordi jeg brugt yoga at hjælpe holde alting i perspektiv.
Yoga. I did yoga four times a week. My body was in better shape than ever before. My thoughts were clear and focused. And my spirit was positive and calm. I survived one of the most difficult years of my life because I used yoga to help maintain my perspective.
Efter jeg ankom i Herning, lavede jeg yoga næsten hver dag med mine yoga dvds at jeg bragte fra Amerika. Sommetider i køkkenet, sommetider i haven og sommetider i dagligstuen. Passer mine krop, tanker og sjæl siden jeg flyttede til Danmark har lavet min overgang så meget nemmere. Da jeg har det travlt og har ikke tid for en yogasession, føler jeg det. Jeg ved noget er ikke rigtig. Jeg håber at find en billig yogaklasse i Herning at jeg kan blive medlem af til sidst. Men jeg Rodney Yee og mine dvds til dengang. (Hans klasser er gratis!)
After I arrived in Herning, I did yoga almost everyday with my dvds that I brought from America. Sometimes in the kitchen, sometimes in the backyard, sometimes in the living room. Taking care of my body, my mind and my spirit since I moved to Denmark has made my transition so much easier. When I get busy and do not have time for a yoga session, I feel it. I know something is missing. I hope to find an inexpensive yoga class in Herning that I can eventually join, but until then I have Rodney Yee and my dvds. (His classes are free!)
Vi alle har stress og hvis du ved ikke hvordan at forblive sund i midten af det, opmuntre jeg dig at prøve yoga. Du har ikke brug for specielt tøj eller maskiner.... og du vil ikke tro hvad en forskel det laver!
We all have stress and if you don´t know how to remain healthy in the middle of it, I encourage you to try yoga. You don´t need special clothes or machines....and you will not believe what a difference it makes!
I've never tried yoga...but I'm not dead yet and I hear many who do it praise the same things you are praising in your posting...so there must be some truth in what you write.. ;-)) hahaha.. I totally agree with your attitude though, finding ways to stress down in a stressful life is important- glad you've found something that works for you my dear!!!
I had brunch with my friend Christin yesterday and she is having a professional/work-related year very similar to what you experienced. She said the same things about yoga yesterday... that she goes four times a week, she wishes the sessions would never end, and she craves it during times of stress.
She's actually met Rodney Yee!
I need to do that. However, the last time I tried Yoga I got all frustrated at how out of shape I actually was; I know, I know, if I keep doing it, that will change!
Sounds wonderful...maybe I should give it a try?

I bought a yoga dvd. It was too hard for me. I need a beginner one for big girls. HAHA!
I have seen the sweating that goes on when people do yoga. You really have to concentrate.
You dont have to answer this, but do you take supplemets and things like that and if so what do you recomend? I use to do all that but have stopped and wish to start again.
Also, I saw Mads has GTA4.
I got that for Andreas not too long ago. Do you ever play any games?
I have heard countless great things about yoga -- I even know dudes who love it! Everyone has said it is a phenomenal anxiety reliever and flexibility workout. I keep vowing to try it -- but I always crave a cardio workout -- that gets my endorphins going, which is great. I could definitely use the relaxation yoga brings, tho...
I tried a yoga video a while back and go frustrated because the instructor would have me on all fours with my head down and then want me to look at the TV to see what she was doing and I was like, "Okay...if you want me to watch what you are doing, it might be easier if I'm upright facing the TV!!!"
I love yoga but I'm not really good at it though. I do it every Tuesday night at local community center. It helps my back a lot.
My mother in law was a yoga teacher and never went a day without it.
KCLC--no supplements for me...but mainly because it takes too much effort to figure out what is right for your body makeup and then remembering to take them...lol. So not because I am against them, but just not committed enough ! :o) And Mads currently plays some Battlefield game online where he is a soldier but cant wait to get his new graphics card so he can plan his new GTA4...
and no games for me. My only skill is with Ms. PACMAN!! LOL
oh yeah, and I play a MEAN GUITAR HERO!!
