TGIF-Thank god it´s Friday!
Ikke den ulækerte danske is, men ÆGTE IS?" Vi kørte til 7-11 (ja i vores MAVS pyjamas, selv om ville Mads ikke gå ind!! LOL) og jeg købte en lækker dessert til os!
Mads and I planned a QUIET Friday night... without work or stress.
We put on our PJs as soon as we got home and did nothing...til 7pm....
At 7pm, I said to Mads, "How does REAL ice cream sound? Not that gross Danish ice cream, but REAL ICE CREAM?!" We drove to 7-11 (yes, in our MAVS pjs, although Mads refused to go in! LOL) and I bought us a yummy dessert!
Nu.... har jeg ikke haft min yndlingsis siden jeg flyttede fra Amerika...Mint Chocolate Chip!
MEN....hvor meget er for meget at betale for en amerikansk favorite?!?!
Now.... I have not had my favorite ice cream since I moved from America...Mint Chocolate Chip! BUT...how much is too much to pay for an American favorite?!?!
I bought Baskins Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip for me, and Ben & Jerry´s Cheesecake Brownie for Mads... and after I realized how much I just paid, we decided to only eat 1/3 tonight, 1/3 tomorrow and 1/3 on Sunday.... eat very slowly!
Så hvad er en yndlingsting værd? Hvor meget er for meget?!
So what is a favorite thing worth? How much is too much?!
Jeg betalte 89kr for 2 "pints".... (Det tager 4 pints for at lave 1 "half gallon" af is i Amerika. Det betyder at en "half gallon" ville koste mig 178kroner i Danmark! Og husk- divideret med 5!) 35 US dollars! Men det smagte rigtigt godt!
I paid 89 kroner for "2 pints"... (It takes 4 pints to make 1 "half gallon" of ice cream in America. This means that a "half gallon" would cost mig about 178 kroner in Denmark! And remember--divide by 5!) 35 US DOLLARS! But it sure tasted great!

Jesus Tapdancing Christ!
Well, I've paid that much for beer, so I guess it's about the same.
Enjoy!!
*lol*
You went to 7-11 in your PJs? That's definitely a cultural difference.
We usually make our own ice-cream, but maybe I should try Ben and Jerry's. My American friends keep gushing about it. :)
I feel better about paying 90 dkk for 6 cans of root beer. Cause then it's only about $3 for a root beer float (using crazy cheap vanilla ice cream) and I can handle that.
Hope you enjoyed it -I'm afraid I would have choked on it. ha! But sometimes you just need to "got for it."
wowzers! you really were hungry for ice cream. i remember how much i hated chinese ice cream when i got there, but a year later it was delicious to me :) just a few more weeks and you can have your fill of blue bell :P
AAAAAAH!!! It's gotta be the best goddarn icecream you've ever had, right?!!!
I love Ben and Jerry's and we quite often buy that here and eat it in small portions. Well worth the money, I say!
You have to stop thinking that way Kelli....if it's a treat and not something you are buying weekly...then buy it and don't think about it..just enjoy it!! Otherwise the cost will overweigh the enjoyment..I'm so thrilled when I find something like that and it's so far and in between that we splurge when we find things like that and I don't think twice about it..I just think..this is not good for my butt..to heck with my wallet...hahahaha....
yes, May...in my jammies!
But you have to know, my jammies are this assortment of plaid boxer pants...most with the Dallas mavericks logo on them!!! More like LOUNGE pants, than lingerie! :o) I walk albert in them too on our early morning walks! and Mads just DIES!!!
I got out of the car at 7-11 and started dancing in front of the car because "Cant touch this" was on the radio...and that REALLY sent him over the edge!!! LOL
"damned americans," he was thinking!
and Amy...you are right... forget the pocketbook effect...and forget the butt effect! :o)
They also sell Ben & Jerry's in Føtex and SuperBest. I think that will be cheaper than 7-11.
*grin*
I'm dying just imagining it, but I still think it's great. Very refreshing!
LOL...sounds like you had fun and that ice creams is very yummi!!!
BTW, you have to divide by 6 now - The dollar is sgoing up...
Danish ice cream is like cold fat in a bowl. Yuck.
Been buying Ben and Jerry's for a while, but this is the first time I'm seeing Baskin Robbins. Mint Chocolate Chip? Woohoo! If I weren't alone home with the kids I'd bolt down to 7/11 RIGHT NOW!
80 Kroners! Damn! it will be cheaper for me to bring my own icecream from India. Here a tub of baskins is about 100 rupees- thats umm 12 kroners. Ben and jerry is about 200 rupees, Yes with the import tax!
I have to say I have really tried to get into Ben and Jerry's but I can't. I just find it too sickly - and I am a huge ice cream addict. I think the best I've every had was in Berlin at Caffe e Gelato on Potsdamer Platz - it's like a restaurant but just for ice cream. It was the best experience I've ever had (well, almost!)
