London Del 1 ... Part 1

Min iagttegelse-- London er EN DEJLIG BY!

My observation-- London is an AWESOME CITY! After three days in the city, London has moved to the top of my "fave places in the world" list. The people in London are POLITE and SWEET. The architecture is AMAZING. And London has all the "big city conveniences" plus so much history plus incredible shopping! The only bad thing---London is "backwards!" :o) But each street has reminders so the cars don´t run over you!

We checked into the hotel and they gave us the penthouse with an awesome view of the Big Ben and the London Eye.

The TUBE is the world´s oldest and biggest underground train system and we learned how to use it very quickly.

Our first thing to do in London was a "Hop On, Hop Off" bus tour where we learned all the little hidden things about London, heard the city´s story, and where we planned the rest of the things we wanted to see while in London.

"London" is made up of many small towns so it is difficult to know when you are driving in and out of the real London. But we learned... "Look for the dragons". They "announce" that you have arrived in London.

My next blog will have pics and stories about everything we saw in London. It was so surreal to se the things that I have learned in history class so many years ago and I enjoyed every moment of the trip! (And I want to let everyone know that Mads and I had Starbucks twice a day! Mads was quite impressed with my "Starbucks radar" which found every Starbucks in the area!)

Looks wonderful!! Read this to the girls and they have some questions...we are investigating the possibility of a long weekend trip to London ourselves...since we will be busy with dog stuff this year...so a longer trip might not be in the cards...the kids want shopping but I am thinking London is expensive?? You stayed in a penthouse? Wont even ask what that cost but would you recommend the hotel? Was it expensive for food and such? Looked so neat...can't wait for part 2!!!

Love your photos, and the two words you describe the people with are to the point. You lucked out with your room and the view. Wish the sky had been blue for you. My Danish friend and her husband often hop over to London, especially when they want to shop.

Still, I could be tempted back. Used to be a tour guide for kids in London so got kind of Londoned out!

What a lovely trip!! A penthouse would certainly make the trip worthwhile, but Starbucks twice a day? Will you ever be able to return to normal life again?
