The Nørgaard-crew is leaving today.... on a trip through Scandinavia.
Remember--Scandinavia is made up of only 3 countries--Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. You can remember this because Copenhagen´s Stock Exchange has a spire on top of it with 3 dogs....one dog to represent each Scandinavian country.

This trip is extra-special because it will bring us to Amy--my friend who is a Texas girl, living in Norway. We met through our blogs and have become great "electronic" griends, but tomorrow, our electronic friendship will become "real"!! :o)
This map shows our route from Herning to Amy. We will drive to Frederikshavn DK (2 hours), take the ferry to Gøteborg, Sweden (3 hours) and then drive northwest toward Hamer (which is between Lillehammer and Oslo), Norway (5 hours). Jess is not so excited about such a long trip in the car, but she is being a good sport because she knows how excited I am to visit Amy and to drive through southern Sweden and Norway. (We could have chosen to take the ferry directly Oslo, but it takes 8.5 hours, it is much more expensive, and you cannot see any of the landscape along the highways....so we will drive!)
My blog has brought so many sweet people into my life, and I feel so fortunate to be so connection to so many..... We sat around our kitchen table this past Sunday together with Jess, Patti and her husband, Ole as we chatted and laughed for several hours, feeling just like old friends, and I thought about how amazing it is that a little blog could make such strong friendships..... And I am certain that I will think the same thing as we sit around Amy´s kitchen table with her family this weekend! I am so thankful for blogging! Maybe we will see you out on the roads today.....3 countries in one day!
