Last summer I was SO SURPRISED to find out how "closed" Denmark is during weeks 29, 30, and 31 because all the Danes are gone on summer vacation! Even our bakery was closed for 3 weeks! Now, I have an easy method to know that we are in either week 29, 30 or 31 in Denmark.....Look...

During my first summer here I went into a mad fit upon hearing that they close the swimming pools during the hottest time of the year.
What madness.
I never got the hang of using week numbers, and when I ask Peter about plans he will ALWAYS ask me what week is that, and I will tell him (for example) the week of July 27 and he will get irritated and ask what WEEK NUMBER is it, and I get irritated because I don't know.

I love that they are pulling them with small cars!! I don't know exactly why, but smaller has always appealed to me. And I'm heartened to see that if I want to buy a small camping trailer, I won't also need to buy an SUV to pull it! :-) Yay!
Funny... I remember seeing the weeks noted on the calendars, and thought it was an interesting detail. Now I know better! I love these little cultural differences.

it is our parking meter... you have to set it each time you park in DK and there are attendants who write you a 550Dkk ticket if you go over your time... it is CRAZY!

We saw one of the huge Winnebego bus-things on the road the other day, and our eyes almost boggled out of our heads. How do you get that to the camp sites on these roads?! Must take a really good driver. We've seen a ton of your Danish campers around here...they've all come to Norway to camp!
