My sister Jennifer and I had a wonderfully cosy time in Copenhagen! It was a perfect start to her first trip to Denmark ! It was, of course, exciting to see the Little Mermaid in her new clothes and Crown Prince Frederik, but it was more exciting to introduce Jennifer to all my favorite things on Zealand (the island where Copenhagen is)!

den meget impronerende Frederiksborg Slot/
the very impressive Frederiksborg Castle

med mine gode venner, Geoff og David
We had a real American breakfast (at O´s in Fredriksberg)
with my good friends, Geoff & David
We met the royal horses at Christiansborg Castle
Hun lavede en ny ven mens vi besøgte Amalienborg Slot
She made a new friend while we were visiting Amalienborg Castle (the queen´s residence)
Vi "hung out" langs med Ny Havn og nød det dejligt vejr,
traditionel danske fiske fillet, og en kold Sommersby!
We hung out along Ny Havn and enjoyed the lovely weather,
the traditional Danish fish-fillet sandwich, and a cold Sommerby!

Hun ser ud "europæisk" så vi købte ind på Strøget!
She looked quite European as we shopped along Strøget!
Kulturnatten var meget sjov!!
Culture Night was lots of fun!!
Men den bedste del af vores tur til København var hendes første
DANSKE HOTDOG!! (som er berømt!!)
But the best part of our trip to Copenhagen was her first
DANISH HOTDOG!! (which are famous!!)

Looks like a wonderful time!! What does your sister think of Denmark? Is it living up to her expectation or better? Enjoy each other!!
Great pictures! You both look like you're having so much fun! Enjoy the week and have more fun!
Sounds like you two are having a blast! And I am very jealous that you got to see the Little Mermaid. When we saw her, she had been blasted off the rock with dynamite just a few days before.
Great pictures and reminders of the places we went last November when it was freezing cold. Glad that the weather was a little more cooperative for you & Jennifer. I can smell the hot dog - yummy!
What a wonderful time you guys are having! Hope you get some good weather too - i.e. when it's not raining.
Thet hot dog looks amazing -- and I am not a traditional hot dog fan (I like buffalo ones, tho.) I believe there are pickles involved here and for some reason it looks good...
Kulturnatten is one wonderful night!...and that Hotdog sure does look good (I wonder what the hotdog-aficionados in Chicago would think of a hotdog disguised as smørebrød ;o) )
Hope you have lots of more fun coming your way.
A traditional Danish hotdog "med det hele" (with everything on) consists of ketchup, mustard, remoulade, and then both chopped raw onion and roasted onion flakes and finally pickled cucumber slices on top.
You can choose between the special boiled red sausages and various grilled brown sausages. The sausage can be wrapped in bacon before it's grilled.
