Jul på skolen...Christmas at the school

Every day this week at school we have had "morning gatherings" for all students and staff who want to come. Christmas songs, Christmas trees, and Christmas stories told by the principal.... a really cosy way to usher in the Christmas season together. As I enjoyed these days, I was a little sad that we are not allowed to do something like this in the schools in the US......

Jule morgensamlinger var en dejlig måde at starte dagen på!
Christmas morning gatherings were a great way to start the school day!

They have been having a lot of cosy gatherings at our boys' school...trying to include every religious feast and celebration, that goes on at this time of year. But at a friends school, they had to avoid any celebration of the holidays, after they had an angry parent threatening to sue them.....so sad for the children that misses out;o)
It looks very much like December in DK, looking at the dark morning outside the windows in your films!

My school sang that first song too. I couldn't follow it 'cause I can't sing and can't pronounce every single word :p

We have done something similar in the barnehagen also, turned lights off and just had small lights on and candles...and advent lights on, it's so cozy and such a peaceful way to start the day! Then they turn the lights on and the day begins- UGH!! hahahaha!

I understand the 'reasoning' behind what has happened in the schools in the US, but it still annoys me to no end. I'd rather see them celebrate every holiday, rather than none of them.

This makes me so sentimental and a little homesick - I loved "Julesamlingerne" and "julefrokosterne" in DK!
