Do you ever wish you could hide from the world? From the problems or the people? When we were kids it was totally ok to have a special hiding place, but as adults, it is seen by the world as being weak when you want to hide away.....
Men digteren Ashraf Gohar Goreja og min kat Emmitt har den rigtige ide hvis du spørger mig...
But the poet Ashraf Gohar Goreja and my cat, Emmitt, have the right idea if you ask me.....
Splendid Hiding Place
by Ashraf Gohar Goreja
Please hide me
In your deep mystifying eyes
For I can't enshroud myself
Under the vast open sky
From thousands of intense
And startling calamities.
In my child play
I used to hide myself
Behind harmless
Insipid, cedar trees
And under the melting shadows of
Dilapidating walls of
Great alcazars.
Narrow ditches were favorite
Among all growing kids
Where we used to hide ourselves
Heedless, care free and avert.
But now
I am a youthful,
Grown up man
And my innocent childhood
Had it's farewell long ago
My appealing, hiding places
Take me as a kid no more.
I need now
An impregnable
Little fortress
That could render
My wandering soul.
Where else could I hide myself?
Please hide me,
In your splendid eyes
So I fear from miseries no more.

Wonderful poem... and I love Emmit in his box.
I do so agree with you - we ALL need hiding places, no matter what our age!
:) I bought a cat bed for my cats and they never sleep in them. I'll go get a cardboard box I guess.
...I have a hiding place. I can't tell you where it is because Michaela, my oldest daughter, might be reading... and my kids are who I hide from! :)
Lady Fi is right - we all need hiding places - a safe place to fall. I have always said your dad was my safe place and I know that Mads will be that for you when you need to hide.
I tried to think where do I hide? I can't think of a place. Great idea.
Great post & pictures! And I leave empty boxes all over my apartment - shoes, empty amazon ones, Pellegrino cases, boxes of all sorts... just for Slippers. Plus you never know when everything will have to be packed for a move of some sort. lol
Emmitt is adorable & handsome!!
I love the poem! Awww! Emmitt is so cute cat napping in that box! I wish I could hide away like that lol! Thanks for sharing.
I'm just impressed that Emmit takes a newspaper and reads it in his hiding place!
If I left boxes around my houses the cats wouldn't lay up in them and hide, they'd pee up in them..they are so gross! When I was little my parents use to take old boxes used to pack a refridgerator in and make us a house or something, cut out windows and such....they were great "hiding" and play places...
You must be busy since you haven't updated your blog in awhile dear- hope all is well with you! Hugs from me :-)
