FAT TUESDAY

Today is FAT TUESDAY. What does that mean? Well I am sure my Danish friends are wondering what on earth that is! FAT TUESDAY is the translation for the French term MARDI GRAS. So what do you do on FAT TUESDAY? Easy...you eat and drink all the bad stuff that you are going to give up for LENT. (LENT is the period of six weeks leading up to Easter and it begins with Ash Wednesday tomorrow.) This means that LOTS of people all over Lousiana (and Texas too!) will be celebrating FAT TUESDAY today.... with some yummy Cajun food and maybe dancing to some good ole Cajun music!

Bailey was born on Fat Tuesday ...
12 years ago! :) Isn't that a hoot? This year she still has a little time, her birthday is the 24th. :) I hope you are eating a paczki(sp) for me!

So I wonder what Danes would eat on Fat Tuesday if they celebrated. Wienerbrod, flaeskesteg. or what?
