I am using the film "Dead Poet's Society" with my 1g. students this month, as we talk about "The Human Spirit" and how people express themselves. This week we watched one of my favorite parts of the movie-- when Mr. Keating stands up on his desk and says:
"I am standing up her so that I can remember to look at the world in
different ways. Things look quite different from up here, and this is
my personal reminder of how important it is that I stop
and see the world from a variety of perspectives."
Albert er enig.... Albert agrees.

If you think about it, the world must look a bit strange from Albert's normal perspective so I can definitely understand him trying another view!
Great movie, great quote and great wisdom.
And Albert is so cute!
DPS was one of the few movies I went to the theater to see as a teenager. I loved it then and still love it now. Now that I am a teacher, what I really appreciate about that movie is the keen BS sensors the students in the movie had... slow to buy in, quick to be wary. Also one of the few Robin Williams flicks I can stand....
