Tur til London....Trip to London

10 dage til afrejse.....
10 days and counting......

Although I am not totally excited about being on the ferry from Denmark to London for 18 hours, I am SUPER excited about my class' trip to London!

Our theme is "the Multicultural London" and I have planned a program that includes all the places where you can "see" multiculturalism in a city.... in art, music, food, religion and shops. Plus the students will be conducting field work using a questionnaire that have prepared in class prior to our trip. Each group (of 4 students) will stop people on the street to survey them about immigration, multiculturalism, and their personal perspectives of London as a multicultural city.

Each group will give a presentation about London's multiculturalism (from their observations, our tours within the city, and their "street interviews") when we are back at school; I am really excited to see how different the conclusions will be from each group!

I believe that this study trip which is always a part of the 2nd year at the gymnasium is an INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT part of the gymnasium education.... because it gives the students such a REAL WORLD view of education!

Oh, I did that ferry trip from Esbjerg to Harwich once. Piece of cake ;-) I might do it again soon, am itching for a trip to London, though I might take the Eurostar instead. Can't wait to hear more on this project.
