I am getting really used to seeing Dannebrog (the Danish flag) everywhere in Denmark....especially when there is a birthday to celebrate. Shops use Dannebrog to celebrate their anniversaries......Families set them in the windows and at the front door when there is a person in the family having a birthday....and the bakeries put little Dannebrog all around the "kagemand" (Danish version of a birthday cake). So yeah, I am
pretty used to seeing the Danish flag everywhere when there is a birthday to celebrate!
However last Friday I was a little shocked. You know that it was Queen Margaret's 70th birthday and you can only imagine how many flags I saw... in the "normal places"....
Ved skolen...
At the school....

ved vinduerne af huse....
in the windows of houses....

Langs med byens gade...
In fields....

foran huse....
in front of houses....

But I got quite a surprise as I drove back and forth to work.....
ALLE BYENS BUS havde flag på det....
EVERY SINGLE CITY BUS had flags on it...
