Carlsberg brewery workers strike in Denmark after bosses tell staff they can only drink at lunchtime
800 medarbejder gik ud igår.... De er meget sur....
800 employees walked out yesterday.... They are really upset.....
Har nogen ondt af dem?
Anyone feel sorry for them?

No kidding.
I grew up in the land of the liquid lunch, but when I moved to Aarhus from Boulder for the first time I remember thinking "in my old job, having a beer at lunchtime would probably get you a choice between treatment and the sack".
What surprises me the most is that the drivers got to drink, too! And I thought Danes were so "holier than thou" when it came to drunk driving!
It's just unbelievable... drinking at work over here is taboo.. and you cannot even drive after a drink.
Had to laugh and say, Only in Denmark! ;-)
I am both laughing and crying at the same time!!! As you said- only in Denmark- although, in this day and age, everyone thinks they deserve to have everything their way ALL the time- so the right mix and this could be an anywhere in the world kinda thing...which is the sad part..

They would really be upset at the idea of a 28-minute lunch with only a Sparklett's water dispenser and a tea service from the lunch ladies in the cafeteria.
I thought the french were bad with their wine at lunch-time, but perhaps all Carlsberg workers ride their bikes or walk to work.
