Prins Joachim... Prince Joachim

If you want to know a little more about our other prince, Joachim, (you know... Crown Prince/Future King Frederik's little brother), you really need to visit him at home....

First- You must drive south (almost to the German border) to a cosy little town called Møgeltønder.

Second-- Check the flagpole just outside of Schackenborg Castle to see if he is home (and YES, he was home when we were there for a visit on Thursday!)

Third-- Take a Viking with you so he can teach you all about Joachim and his roll as prince. Did you know that he is a farmer?? And that his first wife was from Hong Kong? And he can speak 4 languages (can you guess which ones?!)

Fourth- Look for all those royal guards (you know, the kind that stand outside of Amalienborg and Gråsten castles), but you will not find them... Because Schackenborg Castle (Prince Joachim's private residence) does not have them.... I thought that was a little strange....

Fifth- Notice the royal crest on the fence... Can you see that it represents Joachim and his new wife, Marie?

You can read more HERE (in Danish, of course) about Schackenborg Castle if you are interested.

I've seen a couple of interviews with him. He seems like a nice guy. Gorgeous "house"!
