Mads, Jess, and I are taking "Road Trip 99" this summer to celebrate our 3 birthdays....40 years for me and Mads and 19 for Jess (=99). And we really wanted to plan a trip that we would remember for many years to come since 2010 is such a big "birthday year" for Mads and me. Today I am happy to report that EVERYTHING IS BOOKED! Flights, hotels, rental car, and the route!
Vi mødes med Jess i Los Angeles den 29. juni for at begynde vores Road Trip 99! I to uger tager vi til LA, San Francisco, Sequoia National Park, Las Vegas og Grand Canyon. I L.A. vil vi besøge ting såsom Hollywood Blvd, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach.... På vejen til San Francisco, stopper vi ved SOLVANG, den danske by i California....
I San Francisco har vi China Town, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz og Golden Gate Park på listen. I Las Vegas... mmm.... jeg kan ikke fortælle vores plan fordi du ved at "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" Men jeg kan vise noget vi allerede har bestilt mens vi er i Vegas.....
We are meeting Jess in Los Angeles on June 29 to start Road Trip 99! Within two weeks we will go to LA, San Francisco, Sequoia National Park, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon. In L.A. we will visit things such as Hollywood Blvd, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach.... On the way to San Francisco, we will be stopping in SOLVANG, the Danish settlement in California....In San Francisco we have China Town, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf and Golden Gate Park on the list. In Las Vegas... welllllllll....I cannot actually tell you the plans because you know that "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" But I can show you one thing we have already booked while we are in Vegas.....
Vi rejser om mindre end 3 måneder og kan ikke vente! Alle 3 af os er meget spændt .... og vi er sikker på at ROAD TRIP 99 er noget vi vil huske i mange år fremad....
We leave in less than 3 months and cannot wait! All 3 of us are super excited....and we are quite certain that ROAD TRIP 99 will be something we remember for many many years to come.....

WOW, you guys have so inspired us! Sarah and I read this and said we also need a cool vacation this year as I am also turning 40! We are thinking New York and Macy's Day Parade and Rockefeller center Christmas tree lighting...only problem is, New York is an extremely EXPENSIVE city to visit for five people- 10 days!!!
Can't wait to read your posts during or after your fantastic road trip- sounds like a wonderful trip! Will Jess be coming back to Denmark this summer to stay with you awhile?

Jess is in DK May 15-June 1 (in between her semesters) and then we meet in LA June 29 so we will have lots of time together! Cannot wait!

I live in the Napa Valley. If you can get up this way from San Francisco just let me know. Your trip sounds great. My couisn came from Denmark in 2008 and we took her to Big Sur and Yosemite and San Francisco. We all had a fastastic time together. Nina
Kelli, I love it...great way to celebrate your birthdays and what amazing adventures the 3 of you will get to share. I am also a little envious since I would love to experience SF myself one day. Too bad we are not in Vegas at the same time though - that could have been so much fun! Love the Grand Cayon video...needs to go on my blog too ;-)

We always used to stop there on our way to Disneyland. I miss it. I'll be expecting to see a picture of you and Mads as the little pea makers.. I forgot their names, but you can put your face in their heads. :)

And Nina, we had planned a day in Napa, but ended up having to cut it out to fit everything in and avoid driving a million miles...
