Herning Folkeblad wrote a little ad about my talk at the library (actually on page 2!), so I was really excited to see how many would actually show up!

26 people came... and about 2/3 were Danes and the other 1/3 were foreigners. I was shocked that so many Danes came, but I quickly found out that they were actually interested to hear about the problems we, as foreigners, face and what they could do to help... Amazing, don't you think?!
My presentation was a little interactive at points and everyone was really good to participate! Plus, afterwards many of them stayed to talk with me about their thoughts on what I said as well as their own personal experiences (as either a Dane or a foreigner). I wish I could show all of you my presentation.... but I cannot figure out (YET!) how to convert my 64 minute iMovie to some kind of a video podcast..... But I will keep trying.
I met so many nice foreigners on Tuesday night and I am hoping that I will see them again at an International Society event.... if they come this will mean that they are doing my "Lesson #7"....building your network in DK! (Yes, my presentation was made by a TEACHER!! So that means I had "7 Lessons to help the integration process become a little easier!")
One really cool thing that happened Tuesday night was when 2 Danish ladies came up to me afterwards and told me about how they had read about me in the paper 3x.... (in Sept 08, March 10 and that day) and they had come tonight to hear my presentation and see if what they thought was true--if I would be a good match for their organization "Soroptimist International". (You can read about it here: http://www.soroptimistinternational.org/ ) I was humbled that they invited me, but after I came home and began to read about Soroptimist International and Soroptimist Denmark, I started getting more and more excited that they had asked! It is sponsored by the United Nations and sounds like the exact kind of group that I would VERY MUCH like to be a part of!
I am so thankful for the chance that I received to share my ideas about integration... I just hope that it will not be the last time.... :-)

Well done! I'm sure your talk gave a fair description of both sides: the good as well as the less good...
Good for you. That's a great initiative. And I'm impressed how many Danes came.
That does sound like an interesting organization!
This is so cool - I just wish I could have been there to hear it. So yes, you need to get that movie converted. Ole may be able to figure that one out!
