It's J-DAG Snow! "J-Dag" = Julebryg Dag = Christmas Beer Day...
The day the Christmas beers are officially released in Denmark!
You know Denmark?? The only country on the planet that has a holiday to celebrate the arrival of beer?? The Danes get as excited about the arrival of Julebryg as I used to about the arrival of Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks!
They are those seasonal things that just warm your heart! :-)
So tonight, at exactly 8:59pm, the taps all across Denmark will begin serving Christmas Beer and in most places, you will be served by the "Nissepiger" which are the "girl Christmas elves"! Mads and I are going out for 2 reasons...1) to of course, have our first Julebryg, but 2) to PEOPLE WATCH! Should be a fun night!

LOL - so you're not expecting real snow then...
LOL; Fi...not real snow! But to the Danes, this is as big of a celebration! Seriously, there are "first snow" ads everywhere you look!
And CF- Carlsberg/Tuborg (and other Danish beer brands) make special beer recipes for Xmas and for Easter... and you can only buy them during those seasons. I know you think beer is beer, but it really does taste yummier!
Kind of like saying that a Christmas flavored latte at SB is the same as a regular ole vanilla latte... NOT! :-) The christmas one is SO much better!! LOL
It's yummier? I hear from everybody, I have a yeast intolerance so none for me, that it tastes like shit. One of my husband's friends got given some bottles of it last year and rather than drink them he poured them down the sink just to get the pant on the bottles!

We have red cups and pumpkin spice latte here in Seattle now, but what does that help when it's J-day in Denmark and I can't get a Christmas Brew? (And even if I could I wouldn't drink it since I'm pregnant)
as a recent expat to denmark (i'm from warm southern NC and the hubby is danish) the christmas beer is the only thing warming me up right now!! brrr...sooo much snow!!!
