This morning we left Denmark and headed south.....
The temps were around the freezing point and the wind was blowing in the way that only Danish wind can blow, but we didn't care because our destination was Malaga, Spain.

I cannot wait to see what all southern Spain has in store for us this week. I have researched and googled and consulted my friends who have lived in the area so that we don't miss something awesome, but I have also left plenty of time to discover those incredible things that we didn't plan!
The only down side to this trip is that my parents were scheduled to meet us in Malaga today; they should have been here waiting for our plane to arrive, but instead they are home in Texas preparing for my dad's chemo to begin this week.... So that makes this trip even more important-- as I need to discover all the wonderful treasures of Andalucia so that we can bring them back again and share it all with them.
Looking forward to tomorrow's beauty...

I can only imagine how surreal that must be to go from freezing temps to "summer" in one day! Loved the photos, I like taking photos from the plane and those mountains are spectacular!!
I know this trip is bittersweet with the knowledge that your parents were suppose to be there also, but you have the right attitude, explore and enjoy it and find out where to bring them later on!
Hugs from me :-)
It's been 25 years since I've been there, but the magic of those first couple of days has never left me. Enjoy!
I'm sorry that your parents can be there with you. :(
The photos are gorgeous and I'm looking forward to hearing about all your activities!
The Pyrénées are ok but you would have been more impressed with the Alps, taking pictures from the plane when you fly above the Mont Blanc that's breathtaking.
The hubs and I "discovered" Andalusia last year when we went for a wedding (god bless all my weird friends who get married in exotic locations) and pretty much decided we liked it more than many of the other places we've been. I have *got* to brush up on my Spanish because I expect we'll be going back quite a lot.
And isn't the Alhambra just AMAZING???
