Was your Friday night as awesome as mine? I bet not because I spent mine at COOK & TALK; this was the 4th time that International Society has hosted one of these nights in the last year, and I have to say that I agree with the 500+ members of our group...this is the MOST AWESOME EVENT that we have!
Once a quarter we all gather in a "Køkkenrum" (Danish version of a Home-Ec classroom) at a local school, we divide up into three "work groups" and then learn how to make dishes from 3 different countries represented by our "Chefs of the Night". For a couple of hours we cook and laugh and cook some more and then we all gather around the table and eat and eat and eat and learn so much about each other. It is the ULTIMATE example, in my opinion, of DANSK HYGGE! I love all the events that we have with the internationals in our group, but I must say this one takes the cake! Last night there were 50 of us gathered in that køkkenrum and right off the top of my head, I can tell you that within the 50 of us, we had folks from:
Spain, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Brazil, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, England, Scotland, Germany, Taiwan, Australia, Nigeria, Italy, Iran, Sweden, and Texas! If you are an international in the Herning & Ikast-Brande area, you really ought to check us out! I promise that you will NOT be disappointed!

Actually, my friday WAS as awesome as yours, but that's because I was in the same place!! :)
A bit like the united nations of food; perhaps we should've discussed what to do about Libya?
Everything Patti said :-)
Sounds awesome, but you didn't talk about the best part- WHAT food did you get to eat last night??????? Next time you have to get recipes too and share with the rest of us ok? ;-)
This makes me want to move to Herning....
We did the same thing in the Sonderborg area, but it was called Cooks Amuck or something like that. It was such a FUN FUN FUN day....and the food was pretty yummy too!
Glad you had fun!
