Making Memories

I woke up this morning at 430am even though my alarm was set for 5.
No, I am not catching a flight to the US.... which is just about the only OTHER reason I would ever be up at this ungodly hour.

I woke up to watch the 2nd half of Game 1 in the Western Conference Final. (as in...THE NBA!)

As I lay in bed, the game on my screen, the headphones covering my ears, there was one more piece of technology that was necessary... my phone.  Not to prove I can multi-task, but to give me some semblance of what is definitely one of my MOST FAVORITE THINGS TO DO in life... watch the Mavs with Jess.

When we lived in Dallas, we had season tickets and it was just OUR thing. So tonight we texted back and forth all the way through the second half...  and it was almost like old times.

Together, Jess and I have watched the Mavs kick butt in the American Airlines Center, as well as have their own butts kicked... We have watched Dirk set franchise records and we have watched Mark Cuban nearly stroke out... We have watched the JET fly down his runway and we have watched sweet Devin Harris play his heart out, only to be traded to a place far away. We have watched crazy Mavs fans do their duty of being ROWDY, PROUD and LOUD and we were right there with them! And most likely the coolest of all those experiences was when we got to see ourselves on the jumbotron THREE TIMES in one game with Jess holding up THIS sign...

So many great memories.
We get tickets to a game each time I am in town during the season because not only do I love Mavs' basketball, but I love doing OUR THING together just one more time..

But for now, we will just keep doing it this way because 5000 miles can not keep us from continuing to make memories doing OUR thing!

I hope you and your kiddo have something that is YOUR thing........  and that you do it together as often as possible!

Sounds like fun, and good job for keeping the tradition alive regardless of the distance :)
