Another new expat

This is Lisa.
Lisa is my good friend from the US.
This is the picture of the first time I met Lisa in person in San Francisco.
As of TODAY, LISA is an EXPAT!
Can I get a "HI LISA!!!" ?

Lisa and her son, Zach,  (hubby Kraig to follow in a few weeks) moved from Cali to Prague yesterday!
Can I get a "WAY TO GO, LISA!!!" ??

So today's post has two purposes:

1) To say how FREAKING PROUD I AM OF Lisa for taking the plunge into the EXPAT LIFE!!! I cannot wait for the first road trip that Mads and I plan to Prague to see her!!!!

and 2) To find out if there is ANYONE who reads "Mads and Kelli" who is an expat in the Czech Republic??!! Or if there is anyone who reads "Mads and Kelli" who KNOWS an expat in the Czech Republi???!!! Because as we all know, the first and most important order of business of a new expat (other than finding what stores sell peanut butter) is FINDING FRIENDS!!!

So calling all expats with connections to the Czech Republic!!!
HELP ME CONNECT LISA and her family with some nice folks!

Hi Lisaaaa!

I certainly dont know of anyone living in Prague but I'll keep my eyes open!

And Kelli I'm still hunting for some PB up here. No luck so far. I found some Skippy but it was made in Europe and my boyfriend will eat it but it disgusts me when I taste it. :)

Hey Lisa,

I lived in Prague for two years - left two years ago. Let me start off by saying that Prague is a great place to be an expat. Big expat community, very interesting locations, lots to do in and out of Prague and if you have an external income living is cheap.

Here is a couple of the expat bloggers I follow that are still active (and writes really well):

http://girlinczechland.wordpress.com/
http://czechproperty.blogspot.com/
http://blackgirlinprague.blogspot.com/
http://empty-nest-expat.blogspot.com/

There are a couple of different expat groups, the one I was in was MEETinPRAGUE
https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8786306044
There is also an InterNation group which was growing quite big as I was leaving.

From Karen (empty nest expat) I've heard great things of the community at the church http://anglican.cz

The two big sites for all things expat in prague are expats.cz and prague.tv

If you have questions or I can put you in contact with someone specific you can contact me through my blog.
