Once upon a time......

Since the kids arrived just before "Kristihimmelfartsdag" in Denmark (and we had a 4-day weekend!!), we had decided a while back that we would do a road trip to Amsterdam. Coming to Scandinavia was one of Jeff's longtime dreams, and visiting Amsterdam was right up there with it!

We experienced so many fabulous things together as a family--most being "firsts" for Jeff, which was a really cool thing to witness. One of the coolest was his reaction to his visit to his castle!

But I have to say that the best moment of the weekend was on Friday night at about 10:30pm, just after we finished our "Candlelight Canal Cruise" when Jeff grabbed Jess' hand, spun her around and then proceeded to get down on one knee. And YES, you guessed it! He proposed! Mads and I already knew this moment was coming since Jeff had, back at Christmastime, in the very southern tradition,"asked my permission to proposed to Jess" in the future...... But for this weekend, I, in fact, had the honor of helping him plan it (yes, that is a great way to score points with your future MIL!!), but no amount of planning and conspiring prepared me for how precious the moment would be. I feel so blessed that he let us be a part......

So now, I am officially a "mom of an engaged gal"! Needless to say, Jess has had a hard time NOT looking at her hand every five minutes since that night!
