"OMG that costs 25kroner?! It's like 69 cents in America!"
"Is that the only size that the milk comes in? Why are they so tiny?"
(then he remembers the size of the fridge!)
"How do we get those Danish subtitles off the tv?! They are driving me nuts!"
"What's up with those shopping carts?!"
"Not sure I will be able to get used to that flusher on the toilet!"
"TV shows are several weeks behind America? Dang...."
"How can we watch the Olympics with all those Danish commentators?!"
(yes, I moved to DK in an Olympic year, too!)
And these are just the ones in the last 24 hours (of which he was asleep for about 14)!
However there is one comment that it is new to me.....
one that I don't recall ever saying as a new resident in DK....
one that I am going to have to get used to, I guess,
now that there is a teenaged boy in the house....
"Wow, those Danish girls are hot!"

LOL about the last comment!
Hahahaha, I know! The prices don´t affect me anymore. I´m like thinking I´ve won the lottery if I can pay under 1500kroner for a haircut and color and I think of all those supercut shops in Texas for like 10 bucks (way back then) Still, probably not over 200 bucks for a cut and color ;-) Hahahaha.....but such is life here in Scandinavia ;-)
What is up with the shopping trolleys? Too small?
LOL! Love it! :)
May-Lin --he says the same thing I said... They drive CROOKED, not straight!
Absolutlyyy noooo straightttttt a design failure...
He (according to your characterization of him) sounds infinitely more whiny than you ever did, Kelli! :)
Which is part of why some of us Danes (at least this Dane) love reading your blog. :)
A suggestion: Encourage him to make a blog post here within the near future on his feelings and experiences here so far.....and then to make another post a few months or so in the future.
I think it could be very interesting for everyone, including himself, how his views might have changed.
Ha ha ha that is just so funny, lol on the last remark :-)
Ooookay, I guess I would have to try and push a U.S. trolley to get that. I never noticed they drive crooked. :p
Michael REALLY needs some fake Olympic medals.... he could have a grand old time pretending to be Michael Phelps.
Has he had Jessica's favorite Viking pizza yet?
The Danish shopping trolleys steer on all 4 wheels. The American shopping trolleys only steer on the front wheels and have fixed rear wheels I believe.
Models with fixed rear wheels are ideal for forward and backward motion, but not so good for side-to-side adjustments as the ones where you can steer on all four wheels.
