I am fortunate enough to have traveled to more than a dozen different countries in Europe and have stayed in hotels in most of them. While I have had the honor of seeing so many ancient relics and world-famous works of art in those amazing countries, there is one thing that those countries are missing.... HOTELS LIKE WE HAVE IN AMERICA!
Now, of course, I have found Marriotts and Hiltons in places OTHER than the US, but they are still just not quite the same. Now every time I walk into a REAL AMERICAN HOTEL, I feel like breaking into a Julie Andrews' number....
And for me, it would go something like this:
"Ice buckets for ice cubes and real coffee makers,
big beds with fluffy pillows, not fluffy pillow fakers.
Washcloths and top sheets and incredibly friendly staffers;
these are a few of my favorite hotel things.
TV channels
in English,
Breakfast foods that I love,
When I start missing my home and my bed,
I simply walk into my American hotel
and then I don't feel so bad!"

Nice song! I'm not so bothered by hotels and find the ones in Scandinavia good enough.
I sang that to myself and got an LOL. I love alternative lyrics!
Amen!
That is hilarious and so true! Top sheets and real, fluffy pillows in the shape of a rectangle are a must. I still can't figure out why Europe doesn't get that.
