Another deposit in Seattle
For the third year in a row, Herning Gymnasium is sending a class of students to Seattle, Washington for 2 months. This all began in the fall of 2010 and it will continue this Friday.
At 430am I will meet 29 of my students in the Billund Airport and then I will accompany them to Seattle. Waiting for us on the other end will be representatives from Edmonds Community College...and waiting on the other end of them will be 29 host families, all geared up and ready to host a Danish student for the next 9 weeks.
Like I have the past 2 years, I have been teaching the students these mini-lessons designed to help them SURVIVE in the US! And just like the last 2 years--when I talk about things like NOT HOLDING YOUR KNIFE the entire time you are eating, what a TOP SHEET is, or how much you are supposed to TIP your waitress, I have gotten the FUNNIEST LOOKS!
It never fails!
I am so excited to hear about the students' adventures while they are away from Herning Gymnasium during the next two months. Tomorrow's last task in English class is to create their "I am in Seattle" blogs so that they are ready to start documenting all the wonderful (and peculiar) things they are going to experience! I cannot wait to read all of their first entries!
But for now.... I need to finish packing because after I get them settled in Seattle, I am heading south for three weeks..... Yep, you guessed it! To TEXAS to await the arrival of Miss Corrie Ann Wells.
Everyone better clear the way on Tuesday, October 2 because MoMo 2.0 will be TEXAS-BOUND!

Hope you're feeling perky now and full of good health for this wonderful voyage. And boy - are you too young to be a granny!
It would not bother me if someone were to hold their knife while eating their meal. Don't take away my top sheet though. lol
Possibly post a link to the Seattle blogs?
Most importantly. Congrats MoMo 2.0.Enjoy your time with your new grandbabe Corrie.
